>A campaign fundraiser for Sen. John McCain was arrested by police after an active meth lab was found in her Phoenix home.
>Emily Pitha, 34, was arrested on Tuesday. McCain’s campaign cut its ties with her after she was taken into custody, his campaign manager said. She was described as a an independent political consultant who was working for McCain’s reelection campaign.
>Police made the arrest after Pitha’s boyfriend signed for a package delivered from the Netherlands containing at least 250 grams of MDMA.
>Detectives then executed a search warrant at Pitha’s home, finding an active meth lab, some LSD, heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
>They also found $7,000 in cash as well as counterfeit bills.
>“Also in the backyard were the beginning stages of a building they were building with a fake wall that would possibly to be used for growing illegal marijuana,” Detective Doug Matteson, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s spokesman, told KPHO.
>He also said there were bomb-making materials on her property.
>A 5-year-old kid and 10-year-old kid “had easy access to all of (the) drugs and materials, even the bomb-making materials that were located in the back with the meth lab,” he said. However, AZFamily.com reported that the kids were at day care at the time of the bust.
