Has anyone got a legit copy of the info dump?
>>
https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/716741824921137152 So I guess The information was leaked with an intention of discrediting certain people, or it was 'interpreted' in that way by agencies to which this information was leaked to.

This. I checked on Wikileaks and couldn't find anything unless I'm blind.

Here's a good explanation why there's no U.S or U.K names. The media are being careful not to look at the leak and are seemingly only doing searches for names associated with breaking UN sanctions regimes

I hope Wikileaks releases the full documetns to the public with a search function.

These documents were leaked a year ago and are just now being released to the public. How unethical is that? Why should the news media get to decide what they cover in that trove? It's like the Snowden leaks all over again.

I don't think they're claiming that this is the complete, exclusive list of those involved in this operation. Their source is confidential (obviously, since they'd end up dead or trapped in an Ecuadorian embassy), and likely didn't have a paper trail on Americans involved in the conspiracy. I suppose an alternative is that Americans managed to identify the source and bribe/coerce them, but I figure that if anybody had an ID on this guy, he'd go missing.

Which is why they will try to claim a legitimate reason for having off shore shell companies that they funnelled millions of $/£ into, claim to be great philanthropists or something else saintly and then act like the public actually believe that while they go to the Winchester and wait for it to all blow over.

Trouble is there is NEVER a legitimate lawful reason to do this other than tax avoidance schemes which only exist as long as they can't be used by people other than the super rich or large companies.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions. His son was busted by PRC authorities for "smoking pot." Since then Jackie Chan has been the star in a lot of shitty local sitcoms. He may have also been strong-armed into laundering money. It also may be the case that he is trying to hold on to his assets from a malevolent Chinese government.

The social justice tinge all these leaks take is as troubling to me as the content of the leaks themselves. Insider threats will destroy civil society and, ultimately, only benefit the 1%.

>>36765
>More like make people increase tax rates, making the gubmint bigger
True, this will probably happen in governments with established rule of law, institutions, and a balance of power, but in governments where everything hinges on the neopatrimonal legitimacy of someone like Putin the risk of revolution is much greater. Recent history is peppered with examples of revolt.
>>
>>36770
And revolution will bring worse conditions than when the corruption was unknown. Its a lose-lose everytime.

>>36711
What's so special about Delaware?
>>
>>36777
It's a tax haven on US soil. Lots of shell companies are there.
>>
>>36775

It's not necessarily worse. Among the many recent and historical examples of revolt there are many transitions that lead to more stable, liberal governments.

Look at the current quality of life and it's ongoing, precipitous decline in a place like Russia. By some estimates Russia is already worse than Angola. If I was stuck there with no option of emigration or offshoring my assets, then you better believe I would be demanding both blood and change. I think the same is true for all people. Russians have no more inclination to accept cuck-status than anyone else.
>>

>>
>>36791
>Russians have no more inclination to accept cuck-status than anyone else.
That's the minority. The majority is content farming and drinking subsidised booze.

>>36793
Not if the new government seeks to get rid of all previous faults by sharing wealth, which is what has always happened and will happen. These people are frustrated and lack a firm ideological base. They think "I don't have money, so it's the fault of people richer than I" and then they bring the country down. When the new gubmint starts, they get a loan, or someone discovers a new major mine or something. They all start distributing wealth under the disguise of progress and it all crashes harder than it did before.

This is what is going to happen to the world if the US does not stand as an example. Mark my words.

Except Russia is not a communist or socialist country. It's a corrupt capitalist society, just like ours, except the wealthy and powerful in Russia are the corrupt communist officials of yesterday who took private control of their "equally redistributed" wealth after the fall of the USSR, which is just about the exact same thing that happened in China after their economic reforms in the 80s. Neither one can truly be considered a communist or socialist country at this point.

There is no such thing as an "offshore society" or (upper or lower) classes that are above the law. There are only criminal individuals, subject to the laws of various countries. Sooner or later justice will prevail.

>>
>>36941
You said "our society". "We" don't have a society and no society exists in regards to this story. Your cynicism is also garbage since it isn't equal opportunity.

Do not conflate the criminal actions of these individuals with societies. When you do this the criminals win. Social justice won't help you either; there is only rule of law.

I wish I was still optimistic (naive) enough to think this would lead to anything. These people have armies of lawyers, lobbyists, and security.
They might get some tokens at the bottom of the rich pile (Jackie Chan? Who cares?), but no one that directly shapes the policy of governments or funnels significant wealth outside of economies will even be challenged.

For those found to be breaking the law, only a select few will ever receive any attention to make examples of them who are politically inconvenient.

With this much data, most will probably go unnoticed by the majority of people, similar to other publicly available information e.g. political campaign donations.
>>
I can honestly see that when these people finally get cornered on this they will say that the money in these offshore companies is actually helping the global economy, and taxing it would be a disaster for global economic stability and job creation.

In honor of the Panama Paper Wiki Leak: the ONLY song that should be played on the radio .. all day.. on repeat: PANAMA by Van Halen
Best Part is.. its from the 1984 Album
Coincidence?
1984 : George Orwell book:
Nineteen Eighty-Four, often published as 1984, is a dystopian novel by English author George Orwell published in 1949. The novel is set in Airstrip One, a province of the superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance and public manipulation, dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism under the control of a privileged elite of the Inner Party, that persecutes individualism and independent thinking as "thoughtcrime."

He's been shilling for the chinese government and supporting their censorship/propaganda for a while, I'm not that surprised tbh

Obama said he's going to take care of the Delaware tax evasion situation, I doubt he's going to succeed in anything since US companies (Apple, Coca-Cola, Google) use Delaware as a legal way to pay way less taxes.

French TV show "Cash Investigation" made a documentary about the Panama Papers and tax evasion as a whole, I don't find any english subtitles right now but just watch the journalist meeting with Ariane De Rotschild, new head of the Rotschild bank company
