Rim tape thread

What experiences do you have with rim tape?
my experiences so far
>Red(simson brand)
Fast, absorbs road buzz better, susceptible to overheating
>Blue Schwalbe
Easy to fit, stays cool even under contonious braking, cornering takes a hit due to rotational velodensity.
>blue kenda
makes a rattling noise when accelerating, stays cool just like the blue schwalbe, has the tendency to turn to a gelatinous subtance when in contact with nutella, causing a possible blowout when riding through nutella puddles
>Black(rubber, use on single wall rims only!)
hugely increased rolling resistance, doesnt cope well with bunny hopping.Aerodynamics are considerably worse too.It is cheap and readily available though
>Yellow michelin
good compromise between rolling resistance and weight, gives off a muezzin noise at 66,6 kph(fuck off SI autist)
Remarkable lack of "backbone" and is a snail magnet

so what are your experiences with RIM TAPE?

Wow that's a poor execution of a joke that has already been done to death.
Even that downtube shit was more entertaining.

shut up you bar-end
>>
I like Velox cloth tape, stays where you put it. Nylon tape slips around and can work its way up onto the bead.
>>
That's a nice thread OP.

What the difference between tubs and clinchers in terms of ride?

Are you not activating your rim tape before you install it? This eliminates all tape overheating issues.

Velox is too thick (and wide) in my opinion. Had to take a stanley knife to mine to get the tyre to seat.

It works, therefore it sucks.
>>
>>956782
Heavy, doesn't last too long, ideally only suited for poor fags and steel wheel bikes or entry level wheels.

Veloplugs are the way to go
