Does anybody else have an irrational fear of large watercraft? Something about them makes me feel uneasy.
Here's an image I find particularly eerie and unsettling.
Probably something to do with Pinocchio

>the part where they turn into donkeys
That scared the fuck out of me as a kid.

Not of ships, but of industrial waterfront facilities, yes. Dams and locks terrify me. Or anything of that sort that suction a great deal of water. Used to have nightmares as a kid, still uneasy/irrationally afraid.
Probably would be that way for ships, but I work on them, so there's far less unknowns.
Cruise ships are pretty much floating death traps.
Disease spreads like a pandemic through the ship.
Loss of power, and you are now in a floating sauna full of raw sewage.

I'm not so much afraid of being on one as I am being in the water with one

Never cared much for cruise ships. Seems boring as hell to go on a ship where there's not even any point of being on a ship, and visiting 10 cities in 8 days.
I did enjoy this one cruise I did in Patagonia on this small, 400 pax ship that was comfy as hell.
