Maybe. But the big releases of this year have been underwhelming and even the good stuff is meh comparing with other years of the decade. I've heard a decent amount of records this year. It's just that favorites happen to be /mu/core or sub /mu/core this time around. Like, I've heard a majority of artists from this guy's list >>66480367, but most of them didn't impress me all that much apart from the ones on my list.

The new Tim Hecker is pretty bad and Entertaining the World is awful. A Bird's Eye View is pretty bad too (Mephistophelian Facilitator and May 1 and Drumm's best new albums). Outdoor Museum of Fractals is a bore too. Fuck, this chart sucks.
At least you have the new Crumer, that album's great. And Comme Un Seul Narcisse is probably the best release by either artist yet.

But yeah, I didn't like Jason Crumer. It just felt a lot weaker than Ottoman (Only record I really like by him. Walk with Me has some OK songs but overall, eh)

Like I said before it is an old Chart cause I'm too lazy to try out topsters2. I want to replace Hecker's with Valerio Tricoli - Vixit. Entertaining the World would get switched with Eric Holm - Barotrauma. Too Many Voices would get switched with the latest Vatican Shadow or possibly Infrastructure Facticity. I still need to listen to the new Drummer but I'll still stand my ground on outdoor museum fractals though.

IV is their most creative project so far imo. There's a heavy funk and soul influence, their production is much cleaner than earlier records, and it sounds like the band is really pushing eachother creatively. definitely worth checking out if you're into them. the new arca is fucking incredible though, AOTY for me right now
