Here me out, I've heard of the band before, but I've always assumed that they were a shitty metalcore/post-hardcore band with a shitty fan-base similar to something like Pierce the Veil, Asking Alexandria, etc. I learned recently that one of their songs was in the DLC trailer for The Witcher 3, and I was presently surprised. It definitely didn't sound as terrible as I thought it would. Are they worth getting into? What albums/songs would you recommend?
Here's the trailer in question, btw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZP1W6D6aZA
Fuck no.

Sempiternal is pretty good I wouldn't bother with the other stuff tho

theres better metalcore that you should listen to and not tell other people about. BMTH is a bit too shitty even for metal core standards.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't really listen to these types of bands (except for like early Avenged Sevenfold when I was in middle school if that counts). I tend to go with heavier stuff like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Tool, Code Orange, Deftones, Converge, etc. but I wanted to give this genre a shot.

>Tool
this is right up your alley
but insulting tool aside it's not a bad thing to give any and every genre a try don't get wrapped up in the idea that you can only listen to things other people on mu like you'll burn out real quick
Bring me the Horizon started off as a deathcore band, and even though Count Your Blessings quickly became the new standard for the genre, it didn't have wide enough appeal to pay the bills.
So each subsequent album by them has been more accessible, until you ended up with their latest album that's now being played on every "alternative" station in the world.

Lol I totally get that Tool can be either a band that you love or you hate. A lot of their songs sound similar, but I really like Danny Carey, and the way he drums. And yeah, I like giving different genres a shot, even though I might not like it. For example, I was recently introduced to Shoegaze, specifically a band HUM. I ended up really liking them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKXm_la9M1A

Huh, interesting, I didn't know they started out as a Deathcore band. Reminds me of the band Katatonia. They started out as Death Metal, but changed their sound to a more atmospheric, gloomy/melodic sound.

The new Bring Me the Horizon album sounds like every "alternative" band from the early to mid 2000s.

Sempentural and There Is Hell are both p good.
Count Your Blessings is ok for deathcore.
