In 2285, the northeastern region of the United States has turned into a dystopia ruled by the oppressive Great Northern Empire of the Americas. The only resemblance to entertainment that exists is the electronic noise of the Noise Machines (NOMACs). The empire is ruled by Emperor Nafaryus, Empress Arabelle, Crown Prince Daryus, and Princess Faythe. In a distant village called Ravenskill, a man named Gabriel possesses the natural ability to make music and sing ("The Gift of Music")

this is really fucking gay
I thought that was Father John Misty and one of his 'xDD so randum" instagram posts.
Even as a Dream Theater fan this is like some absurd sort of performance art, everything about the album is Tim and Eric tier

This is like a shitty SyFy channel movie that takes itself too seriously.
What an Astonishing idea for an album
>tfw it actually good good reviews and I like DT's earlier stuff but I haven't gotten around to listening because it's fucking 2+ hours long

Tbh you can just listen to the first smattering of songs and be alright. All of the songs are short and catchy, so you don't have to be worried about getting sucked into a 40-minute epic song or something.
Also, reminder that loving Dream Theater is for plebs, hating Dream Theater for "pretentiousness" is for normies, and thinking they're good but not the best is for patricians.
