"I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" is almost embarrassingly straightforward and honest. So Ramones is truly the only rock and roll album you *need* to hear, because everything common to all rock is here. Colma, Electric Tears, and Population Override are the only albums I can think of that are that way. Everything else, from Crime Slunk Scene to Enter the Chicken to The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock are all just him hitting the same solos at the same speeds with little real variation. Once you catch that one little riff that falls into every one of his solos you'll never unhear it.
That said, Population Override is probably my favorite BH album.

Hendrix made blues more riff centric which sets up basically all of the 70s/80s Rock bands and modern bands trying to rip those guys off. Jimi's usage of effects and feedback was big for noisier stuff and why many industrial guys say he was a big influence. Jimi, unlike Zappa, was actually good at doing jazzy stuff so his jams were more intricate, too so Jimi excels on a virtuosic level, too. Combining some of these aspects had Jimi create new sounds/approaches to music like extending bends on an electric guitar, playing chords in a start stop fashion that inspired funk, etc.
This is just the surface of how much of an influence he has. Other hard rock guys who were blues influenced don't even compare.
