high rise are part of the great japanese heritage of straightedge noise rock. with keiji haino, merzbow... all the best people.
speaking of, i can't get over this performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4VY0YZKT3A it's fushitsusha or keiji haino's band that released their most well known stuff in the late 80s on record. as someone solemnly commented in another video, "this man is a shaman", i feel mesmerized by haino's performance.
i can see how someone would be like... "but he's just playing nonsense, it's not music, it's noise, i can make that with my guitar because i suck at guitar" and totally dismissing it, but it's like your brain clicks and turns the sound into butterflies.
