Because most people are ugly in any society that does not kill or expel its ugly members. Famous musicians from any society are likely to be those who are above average in their attractiveness, so you will notice that if you look at famous British musicians they will be above average attractiveness. If you looked at all British musicians you would not see a significant deviation from the general public in terms of their attractiveness. The reason why famous people are likely to be attractive is that attractive people are more likely to become famous for what I think are fairly obvious reasons. Does this answer your question?
