panda bear's solo music is generally way more accessible and poppy than animal collective. anco's albums are almost all incredibly experimental in one way or another, or just exceptionally slow and "boring" for the average listener. for example, Strawberry Jam with the screaming, Feels is slow as fuck, Sung Tongs is incredibly fast paced but with a ton of boring ass songs, etc. etc. etc. dont even get me started on their earliest work
