The Smiths are great because they are sad and at the same time funny. Moz often does this lyrics - "I was looking for a job and then I found a job, heaven knows I'm miserable now." He is rarely completely sorrowful in his lyrics, and the Smiths are rarely completely sorrowful in their music.
