I'm obsessed with this album and want to find more music like it. Other people have recommended Autechre who I already listen to, but I don't find their music to be as danceable as this album.
The Raster-Noton label is typically known to produce very "academic" music. I like this album so much because I find it to be at the intersection of academic music and fun/catchy/dancy music.
So ITT: albums like this one or more generally at the intersection of fun and academic; also discussion of why you think music might be appealing at this intersection

woah i was clearly wrong. this is awesome! To be fair, I haven't listened to any Autechre past Confield, so I guess I unfairly judged.
How has their recent music changed from their earlier stuff?
This Autechre song is also sort of similar to And IV : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAf2aqZGl8w
But yeah, I must admit, except Ueno Masaaki, that they aren't a lot of people doing dank glitchy beats these days, AFAIK.
farmersmanual were awesome tho.

Draft 7:30 is basically a more accessible Confield
Untilted is them with some Elektron machines from the 2000s
Quartistice is basically their mid-thirties crisis.
Oversteps is them fucking around with FM synthesis/FM8.
Exai is them trying to do something new (fucking around with compression, and other stuff I didn't grasped yet)
Elseq is them doing Exai live in their basements like that Quaritisce.quadrange EP

apparently farmers manual is very popular. somehow i've never heard of them before, but I shall be sure to give them a listen!

This is very much along the lines of what I'm looking for! Is the whole album like this? I've listened to Xerrox Vol 1-3 and got a very different vibe of Alva Noto.
>>66295191
I've listened to Rhythm before and definitely like it, but I feel like there's not that much variation in all the tracks. I'll give it some more listens tho

Regarding Alva Noto, you should check out UNITXT. Most of the album is like this. I think you'll enjoy it
