I'm from Skopje, so our annual jazz festival will be my pick.
it should be clear by now that we're all asocial, shut-ins.
looking for jazz guitar albums similar to grant green and wes montgomery, any recs?
I'm working on a reharm of Autumn Leaves right now. Can I get some opinions on it? This is the first few measures-
|Am7|D7b9|Gmaj7|Cmaj7
|F#m7b5|B7b9|Em7| - D7b9
|Am7|D7#11|Gm7b5|Cm7
|F#m7|B7#11|Em7| - - -
It's a little out there, but I think it'll work. any tips or feedback appreciated
What album has the best drumming?

Brubeck Time and Time Out have GOAT drumming. pic related

Well that's not really a reharm... you're just changing the chord quality...
A reharm would be something like-
|Em(b6)|D/E|Em(b6)|E+
|FMaj7/E|B/E|Em11| - Fsusb9
using pedal tones is a good way to start a reharmonization and get you hearing different sounds that fit with the melody and but still put tension in different places.

Logan Richardson's Shift is the best Blue Note release this year
also there's Dr. Lonnie Smith's Evolution, GoGo Penguin's Man Made Object and Gregory Porter's Take Me To The Alley
Trying to get more into stuff that isn't trumpet or sax. Found pic related at a garage sale, super nice find. I think Lateef doesn't have a mastery of the oboe/flute to be as expressive or interesting as he is on tenor but I really enjoy his tone. It also wasn't avant-garde as I anticipated, but that's not a complaint.
anyone know of the japanese jazz scene?

I've only listened to some of Otomo Yoshihide's work. Pic related is amazing.
Seattle. It shows in their youth programs. Seattle area high schools are the top jazz programs in the nation, consistently.
