>WE KNOW YOURE ALL FED UP WITH USELESS WARS AND RACIAL STRIFE
did mike love predict the 2016 racial tensions?

He was talkin about the Vietnam war ya dip
That song is the only thing keeping that spicy 9/10 album from being an extra spicy 10/10.
Jesus why did they let Mike Love do anything.
Race politics was pretty big in the late 60's/early 70's dude.
I can not accurately gauge how much there was then to now, but still, it was quite a focal point of social issues of that time.

This, such a horrendous song

The civil rights movement was happening in the 60s. MLK Jr, and Malcom X were active in the 60s. The civil rights act which guaranteed non-discrimination by race wasn't passed until '64. I think it's fair to say race politics were at least as big, if not bigger of an issue then as they are now

Take out Student Demonstration Time and put in Dennis's "[Wouldn't It Be Nice To] Live Again" and its a 10/10
Also incredibly self aware and referential, which is pretty neat as a concept for that time, today, even.

Take out SDT and replace it with 4th of July
Take out Surf's Up and replace it with Wouldn't It Be Nice to Live Again

>[Wouldn't It Be Nice To] Live Again
This is pretty good. Why couldn't all of Surf's Up been these sad songs like the last 3 on the album?
