Also this one, Marina and the Diamonds - The Family Jewels. It reminded me of Lessons to be Learned when I first heard it. This came out 2 years after lessons to be learned. These are the only two pop artists I actually like. I'd also recommend Regina Spektor but I would call label her pop.

anyway, Kate Bush is some good 80s simple pop. there's also the new Porches album, Pool. TR/ST's debut album is really fun, albeit a little dark and moody. Liars has an album called Mess that one's really fun to listen to. PC Music has some good stuff too, like Hannah Diamond and GFOTY. If you want something without lyrics, you could play Aleph by Gesaffelstein.
