I hate how fucking nu-male Crywank and Jordaan have become.
Jesus why couldn't they just make music about being sad?
>>66254783
Very accurate
>>66257059
What album is this?
>>66257072
iron and wine - our endless numbered days
What's the slanted and enchanted rocket power meme supposed to mean
>>66257179
Nothing, it's just a meme

Ride - Nowhere
cmon now
>>66256673
this makes no fucking sense. G.O.D. isn't EDM. am I being b8ed?
>>66257748
more like nightcore vidya osts
>>66257836
except no? lol
>>66257318
you got Ed?
did he live at Kensington market or spend a lot of time there? he seems like one of "those" people
>>66257318
I can see why you'd have that sort of imagery but Kid A isn't really about any global or political issues.
To me it's an album about loneliness and isolation. It seems like it would have a larger scope but I think it's much, much more personal and singular than people generally think.
>>66254715
>8.5
>>66254715
anybody got the Weighing Souls with Sand one?
>>66257651
How new are you?
>>66258087
Yeah, this pretty much.
>>66258014
>Kid A isn't really about any global or political issues.
>ice age coming ice age coming
>let me hear both sides let me hear both sides let me hear
>we're not scaremongering this is really happening
>>66258087
>>66258508
Both of these, except replace "what I got" with "what I expected" on both.
>>66254763
Lmao. Panda's face expression in that video always gets me.

>>66260210
never said he wasn't, he's just completely different from Lescalleet.
>>66257059

You haven't listened to Summer Babe?
>>66257318
best itt
possibly ever
Bored, so I'm gonna make some OC this evening. Pic related.
>>66256673
Third picture needs to be someone complaining that Yasunao Tone's works are too harsh with a poster of Grimes in the background
>>66257586
This is perfect.
OC my dudes
>>66262303
this is perfect
>>66254792
Yes
do you know anything like that album?
>>66258540
Retard
fresh OC
>>66254763
listening to DM for the first time right now
it's not what i thought it would be at all dang
>>66262951
Is... is that a bad thing?
>>66260702
this
>>66254715
so, anybody likes "form less". I am listening to it right now and in my opinion it's a lot like "mantra songs" but without that intimate something
>>66256673
Mutant Standard is the only song that sounds anywhere close to EDM you fucker
Fresh OC my dudes
>>66263925
>Painting With is like Close to the Edge & Laughing Stock
how did you come to this conclusion?
>>66263960
DON'T. BREAK IT.
>>66263045
Agree with the got, not the expected
You think it's better than Laughing Stock?
>inb4 reverse it
>>66254763
This, the general opinion on this is so incredibly wrong.
>>66263938
Holy shit thanks you, I always thought Om was some shitty prog metal band, I finally listened to them 4 month ago, they are fucking great
>>66264093
Laughing Stock is good in its own right, but I'll always like Spirit of Eden better.
>>66256433
>'nu-male'
>>>/pol/
>>>/b/
>>>/highschool/
>>66256433
In what way has Crywank become "nu-male?"
>>66263045
>listened to slint and tortoise before talk talk

>>66263925
not even in terms of quality, but how is painting with ANYTHING like Laughing Stock
>>66257562
this is great
>>66264247
good. It keeps the vinyl price low
>>66264406
Yeah I know, crucify me now pls
>>66262951
this is literally the best one i've ever seen
>>66264543
bird seed's better but still very accurate
>>66261104
i don't get it
>>66266605
Why do people give Bird Seed so much praise? Or anything with Sotos/Benett. Great White Death is so much better than anything post 80s
>>66257550
Did you like it?
>>66267244
Ouch
>>66266588
Never heard this before; album cover caught my eye. Great stuff
One of the most painful listens in my life.
>>66267766
Hahah oh man, yes
>>66266605
>>66266689
See I disagree, I think Mummy and Daddy is hands down the best thing they have ever done. People purely judge Mummy and Daddy off of one song (A Cunt Like You) and that's not necessarily fair.
>>66267905
You can't be seriously telling me that that stuff (not saying it's bad) is better than monumental works like Erector, Dedicated To Peter Kurten Sadist And Mass Slayer and Psychopathia Sexualis
>>66264100
this is insanely accurate
>>66254715
>>66268018
Yes. I truly believe Mummy and Daddy is an underappreciated masterpiece that truly explores the experiences of sexual and domestic abuse.
>>66258513
>one song has these themes
>therefore the whole album has these themes
>>66268255
ok but I was talking about the music
>>66268280
There's a general feeling of political commentary in the album art/booklet; drawings, loose phrases and references to tracks that would appear on Amnesiac that do carry political meaings.
I'm not the other guy
>>66264247
danse manatee is a really good album is starting to get in my top 5 anco albums. Its so satisfying when you actually start to warm up to it. Way better than chz and pw.
>>66258540
>"hey guise, the new avalanches album sux! it's electo-swing bullshit! am i kewl yet? AAAAAAAAH FRANKIE SINIATRA!"
>>66263337
why is there an ifunny logo
>>66268370
Because the world is an ever increasingly sad and dark world, my child
>>66268281
I think Mummy and Daddy is their best musically too.
>>66254715
>>66268425
Well, it's kind of like that with the great industrial and industrial-borne giants. Like, three people can love three different Coil albums from three different eras for three completely opposite reasons.
>>66257567
Kek
>>66258148
accurate
>>66257567
lol
>>66260702
listen to the sheperd's dog, it's his best release.
If you liked that go to Woman King
>>66257171
>anything involving tropical themes
thanks anon
>>66268479
See I think albums like
>Erector, Dedicated To Peter Kurten Sadist And Mass Slayer and Psychopathia Sexualis
Sound really samey, and the constant sine wave affect vocals and synths get really redundant for me.
>>66263045
are you implying slint and tortoise are 6/10?...
>>66268619
I'd say it's more forestcore.
>>66263302
honestly i get most things but i don't get this album. i love revolver, i love sgt peppers, i love rubber soul, and this has some good ass tracks (something, golden slumbers, carry that weight, here comes the sun, because) but it's filled with just weird boring tracks like maxwell's silver hammer and polythene pam
>>66268285
What album is that?
>>66255669
>that tiny wah pedal in Monolith
so refreshing
>>66268632
Right, see? Those are some of the main reasons I return to those works.
>>66268370
i made it on a different computer and put it on my ifunny account, so i just went there to grab it
>>66258441
I got the opposite
>>66268783
>My ifunny account
>>66268765
See I think Mummy and Daddy is the most focused, most atmospheric, easiest to connect with, most emotional, best lyrics, best production, and scariest album. It is seriously a new revolution in sound in Whitehouse's career, and is a masterpiece.
>>66268641
No, I was just expecting some Slint/Tortoise/Red Krayola-core that was only worthy of a 6.8. All three of those expected albums are great.
>>66268324
It actually sucks though. You can't absolve that by angrily spouting memes.
>>66264848
>dat demo at the corner
>>66264569
Aw man, no need to be so harsh...
>>66268941
I thought Excavation was fucking garbage, it's like a fisher price first drone/ dark ambient album.
>>66268875
although the features and surface of the app is pretty terrible, the rest of the app is really great. i'm not saying its not cancer, but it's community is easily better than facebook, twitter, reddit, vine, or youtube
>>66268967
What else would you reccomend then? Frankly I didn't really think it was that impressive, but I really dug Excavation part 1
Especially the beats and the background noise
>>66266652
Old meme, newfag...
>>66269006
So this is 4chan in 2016
>>66269190
sad but true
>>66263938
It reminded you of shitty memes propagated by bitter virgins?
>>66263337
album?
>>66269190
oh, so i can't go on anything else that's not 4chan/rym? god you guys are so judgemental.
>>66269323
Shitty facebook memery is not funny. If you don't want to get called out, make an image in paint instead of watermarking it with cancer. Lurk more.
>>66269319
autechre - exai
be warned, this should NOT be your first idm/autechre album
>>66269323
Leave cancer.
>>66268705
Though I was the only one that thought that. Good album, but far from the best.

>>66269323

>>66269526
wew, you sure put a lot of thought into it
or maybe you just get stoned your way through it in order to ffell that way about it
na, jokes aside, check his other two albums if you haven't already. Zauberberg is like the darker, tenser version and Koenigsforst is more or less a transition between the two (tho I dig the former more)
my oc
>>66269717
my oc part 2
i couldnt really find the exact images id use to describe this album and im not talented enough to make them, but i did my best.
>>66268698
this album was a bit tough to listen to, but i really liked it in the end
>>66269650
I usually listen to it as I'm falling asleep after my nightly fap, especially tracks 6 & 7, so maybe that's why I come to that conclusion.
>>66257651
screenshot and reverse image search next time you're thinking about embarrassing yourself
>>66257256
is the second pic an album? or is it from a movie?
>>66269981
Drukqs is really great, i get some of the hate, but it's still the best afx
>>66270400
me too bucko
>>66269981
Oh good, it's nothing like the Richard D James album?
Because that and I Care Because You Do were boring as fuck.
>>66265588
why did you expect death grps and kendrick
>>66270573
i really liked the richard d james album. its my 2nd favorite. they both are different albums really, some of the fast drums from RDJA are on the faster paced tracks on this album, some of the synths remind me of the album too. But i'd say they arent really that similar.
>>66269981
drukqs is great. I wish it was shortened to 1 disc though.
>>66254792
Great album. It kind of reminds me of grouper and Giles corey
Fresh OC coming through
>>66270905
Gave me a chuckle.
>>66258513
>>66268317
Lonely people under a lot of stress, anxiety or that feel they're losing control of their lives tend to have paranoid political views.
>>66270905

>>66254729
How fucking stupid can you be
>>66270578
not that guy but Bowie cited them as influences
>>66271345
>>66264247
I think that what was in the third panel is what they were going for, but what was in the second panel is what it resulted in. People tend to mistake the intentions with the result when it comes to Danse Manatee. I think that at that point they weren't able to fully execute what they had within them, but people tend too treat what they were going for as if it were the actual result. Others get accused of underrating the album.
>>66263922
Uhhhh Sticky Drama?
>>66267546
>acoustic boogaloo
>>66266588
>>66267597
Literally everyone knows the 15/8 song. Like, idk how you can exist without knowing it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E3znZoFnN8
>>66271457
Nope and even if it were that would be 2/12...
>>66271729
Pretty much, aside from the opening song, and even that was just a 6/10 that tried to be a 10/10
>>66271729
no joke.
everyone was like "this album is so good" and the first track gave me hope but then i listen to more of it and it's gross pop rock that i rate whitegirlturnup/10
>>66257562
Jason Lescalleet has a pretty good sense of humor. I remember seeing him open for OPN, and his set went from being harsh noise to a recording of some 80s Top 40 hit.
>>66271824
Color me interested
>>66268914
the problem is that people shit on it using only memes. and people defend it using only memes. Because /mu/ doesn't know how to actually critique music
>>66272020
Oddly enough, this also works for the single player experience as well.
>>66271935
underrated
Going to see them play on monday. my bud Tony Molina is opening for them should be a gud show.
>>66257058
it's both "expected" and "got" imo
>>66264651
It's not, I was making fun of people who are in denial of the fact that Animal Collective are no longer at the top of their game, some going as far out of their way as to dis their early approach to music.
>>66271636
I love Penguin Cafe Orchestra, but something about this kind of music makes me feel really depressed. It's weird, it like makes me feel a strong desire to just go downtown or something and be around a lot of people to escape this feeling of melancholy, even though that song sounds happy.
>>66256673

How is Earthbound anything like Low?
>>66270134
It's a composite.
Why is /mu/'s sense of humor so bad people actually put numeric ratings in the expected/got parts?
>>66254715
People who go into music expecting what you expected, no matter the album or artist, need to take a long hard look at their life.
