I actually thought that this year's iDEALFEST was a fairly blatant bandwagoning move on Nordwall's part but whatever, his recorded output and record label allow him the occasional slip-up.
And I'm never gonna have a beef with any of the Attestupa guys, they've produced or released so much great shit over the years that they're beyond criticism in my books.

PI has had some worthwhile releases although I agree that it's a huge fucking fashion show now, but that's also owing partly to the bands themselves and the scene in general
I've been disappointed by Communions, for example, because I thought their EP was interesting and their concert at Roskilde was great, but then they drifted off, I also believe they got a new lead singer, and at one point they signed to PI and released Cobblestones which was bland shit, but I doubt PI could be blamed for that.

I liked some of the early stuff that came out on PI like Ashley C or Alleypisser(the shit Mikkel Rorbo is doing now is even better than Alleypisser was IMO, but none of it was released by PI) and I pick up the stuff that they occasionally put out by artists which aren't a part of their local clique(like Arv & Miljo) but yeah, the other shit that I heard(especially the shit done by Rahbek, most of the things which I dislike about the label seem to be the result of his decisions and ambitions) has all felt very empty and contrived to me.
I'll occasionally read an interview with the major players in that crew if I stumble upon one, just to see if they're finally going to say something that's gonna make the label and its projects "click" for me, but all that ever does is making me even more convinced that they're just as superficial and trend-conscious as they appear to be. Puce Mary's segment in The Wire's Invisible Jukebox segment from a while back was a genuinely painful read.

Because it feels like it's their music is a projection of their fashion and not the other way around, because that particular fashion is also how the entirety of the 'hip' Copenhagen dresses, because it's the sound and look of an anaemic Joy Division cover, because this makes for uninteresting concerts, because it feels like their aesthetic is an excuse to make mediocre, fashionable fashions which the critics eat up, like Communions and their twingy-twangy trite
