I enjoy listening to Little Hell whenever I go for walks. I'm not a sap or anything, but I fucking love Dallas Greens vocals and it usually puts a smile on my face when going for walks.
It's best to do it without headphones in case you get jumped or eaten by a badger or run over

I don't understand it either. I hardly take anything with me just in case something does happen. I only have a water bottle or two in my backpack, along with bananas and maybe a book.
As for walking in the city during night time, I walked around in Winnipeg for two, almost three hours downtown and didn't see a soul wandering the streets. It fucking felt amazing and I wasn't worried one bit.

OP here, I live in a incredibly small town where people having been living here for generations. And there's hardly ever any crimes. I think the last notable one was maybe a break in like 5 years ago? Plus, I was planning on carrying a boxcutter on me just incase.

Canada's just different. You can walk around Main and East Hastings at 1:00 am and no one will bother you if you keep to yourself. The most suspect thing I've ever had happen down there is a homeless dude with a swastika tattooed between his eyes tried to sell me some porn mags, and went on to the next group when I said I was alright.
