Mixing issues. A lot of the stuff on her albums seems like it goes through some degree of post processing that's difficult to replicate live.
Like the screams in SCREAM. She can't reproduce the pitch or intensity. It's impressive to do most of her stuff live anyway.

I just watched that Open'er performance. Unfortunately the mixing was weak: everything sounded flat, without any bass. But the actual performance / singing was great, especially if you consider how much she moves on stage.

Art Angels was super rad. imo it's an album that's as deep and sincere as the rest of the albums but way more joyful (in general terms hahah). Every single song grow so much on me, and it has realiti, my fav song! <3 Plus the lyrics are SO GOOD as the ones in previous albums. I love the vision grimes has about pop music and I think her taking it into an album has been a great work.
