this track is mad cool, mad melancholy, suffers from a lack of variety in sounds (you can use like 5 different kicks in this dude!) but I can feel exactly what you're going for. yeah drum mixing was pretty weak, kicks especially. no good when every single kick in the whole track hits exactly the same.

No, at this point I only record and play bass guitar myself. The other instruments, I either don't have, or can't play sufficiently, but if either a video game or music project does kick off, and I get an actual budget to work with, I'd love have all instruments recorded. In the meantime, I do put some effort into making the other instruments sound as believable as I can.
I keep getting some negative feedback on the drums, which is the one thing I'm most picky and least negotiable on. By all means, if people I work with in the future have good alternatives, I'm all ears, but I suspect they want to make them much lighter, which I just can't get myself to do.

Ice Zone 1, man, I am loving the harmonics on whatever synth amalgam you used for the melody. The blue-and-white aesthetic you're using for your pictures is a nice touch, particularly the cityscapes.

I don't know if it's actually related to the Soundcloud threads or not; the last time I posted here was a few months ago. I think it could be because I used the same username on other sites. I keep getting Skype messages from bots saying they "found me on Instagram", so I wouldn't be surprised if these Soundcloud bots found me the same way

I'm glad you liked that, we're working on more stuff in that vein. I actually bought a delay/loop pedal recently, which I used to make "cloud canopy" on my solo account. Also kinda surprised you liked the mixing, I feel like I do a slapdash job with that
here's a fun fact, the sound at the very very end wasn't actually bass, but unintentional feedback between my acoustic-electric and an amp. If you ever buy an acoustic-electric, do NOT let it feedback into an amp unless you like tinnitus and/or intense vibrations
