Pop is the perfect form of music and the most logical
Post-Avant Jazzcore
>Apply to join Mensa
>Do well on initial tests, IQ rated at 132
>Move on to the music section
>First test is listening to Meshuggah
>Other Mensans nodding along
>I can't take it, begin covering my ears, I'm just not smart enough to listen to this music
>Escorted from the building by security
>Handed a piece of paper when leaving informing me that the final results show my IQ is actually 17 due to the music test failure
>I'm only slightly less retarded than this thread
Music does not need intelligence.
You just let your eardrum bounce back and forth to the sound waves.
And enjoy.
It's purely hedonistic.
Just like having sex, eating, drinking.
No intellect involved, like reading philosophy.

"Grrrrrr" "youre not right!" "I dont agree with that, and youre being sincere in saying that you think this!!!"
Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?
>>66103450
Admit, you have never listened to Tech Death or Symphonic BM other than Cradle Of Filth.
>>66103491
Ive never listened to that fuckin' garbage full stop mate.
>>66101854
If you want a real answer, academic contemporary classical
>>66103338
Math rock, symphonic black metal and technical death metal all have one thing in common:
It's just a bunch of guitar wankery.
>>66104008
What are the alternatives?
>>66102861
Go read up on Pet Sounds.
>>66101854
The serious answer is classical music.
>>66101854
Jazz, Classical, Noise, the list goes on...
>>66104062
Not that guy, and Pet Sounds is my personal favorite album of all time, but it doesn't compare to some of the more complex stuff in classical music like Bach's baroque works.
Pet Sounds gets close, and it definitely has its production aspect helping it out. But certain pieces of classical are just so much more dense than anything we listen to today due to the arrangements, the amount of melodies, dynamics, progressions, etc. changing in such a short time, nothing else is even close.
>Avant Garde Jazz, Post Bop, Harsh Noise, Baroque Classical, Musique Concrete, Post Classical, Field Recordings, I could go on...
>>66102065
>not progressive dream funk
>>66104050
I don't get the question, but the whole point of the thread is to discuss which genre is most intellectually demanding to play and anything that has to do with metal is definietly not above jazz.
the sound of a soft breeze in a wide tunnel
>>66104253
> intellectually demanding to play
>play
Where did you get that?
I'd say it's both play and appreciate.
Math Tech Symphonic Black is the most demanding from both parties.
>>66104253
Playing technically is not intellectually demanding though. I thought OP meant which genre of music is the most dense so it takes the most out of a listener to get everything out of it. In which case classical takes this by a longshot.
>>66102105
>No intellect involved, like reading philosophy.
would have been golden bait but you went overboard
>>66104313
How is it any untrue though?
Playing music is just muscle memory, listening to music is just receiving and feeling.
Both things are intellectually inferior to writing and reading politics/philosophy etc.
