I don't cry often (once every few years), but if I'm going to cry it's not typically things that are the saddest of the sad, dark, or remind you how desolate you are. Those are emotions that are familiar and therefore easily counterbalanced, the circuits are readily biased such that anything is easily offloaded or turned to something else at will.
