One Nation Under a Groove is one of Funkadelic's more popular albums, I like Maggot Brain.
If you want other artists, The Undisputed Truth have a bunch of good albums on the boundary of funk/psychedelic soul. Sly and The Family Stone's Stand! is another good one. Kool and the Gang's Wild and Peaceful, as well. Those are just some of the famous/popular albums. There are so many good artists in the genre. Check out psychedelic soul as well, it's the precursor to funk and basically black people's take on psychedelic rock (it's waaaaaay better). Also, don't shy away from compilation albums. There are a lot of great african funk comps (specifically from ghana and nigeria). Hope this helps!
