more albums like this one?

I don't know much about dream pop, I really like Grimes and that's it, someone posted this on a thread and I loved it

this is my favorite song from it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkC4tdYW5jg

>>

seconded (Teen Dream better rep)
>>
>>65847142
shit indeed

that cover art isn't making me any excited in listening to it but I'll do listen to everything posted here
sadly I won't be able to give my thoughts on every album before the thread dies

Babe. Heaven or Las Vegas.
>>
You know what, I'm gonna say listen to Loveless by My Bloody Valentine. You sound like a noob so maybe you haven't heard. Kind of a different genre, but sort of similar sound layering to Ceres.
>>
Frustrator
Hollow Sunshine
Depreciation Guild
The Zephyrs
Porcelain Raft
>>
>>65847118
>memory tapes

Fuck yeah, Seek Magic is a classic.
>>
>>65847559
If you could elaborate on how the layering in Loveless sounds like Sound of Ceres that'd be great. I don't agree at all.
>>
>>65847559
perfect description actually

>>
>>65848390
Yeah yeah the cover looks like tumblr or whatever, it never bothered me. Even if M83 is now normie because of Hurry Up We're Dreaming, they still got me into Shoegaze
>>
>>65847559
newfags goddamn
>>
OP here

>>65846974
>>65847194

listened to both of them halfways, I didn't like them much, they sound straight of a movie like the perks of being a wallflower, I'll probably finish those albums later

>>65847074
I'm actually digging this, I mostly listen to music with catchy melodies but this is interesting, it makes me remember Quarantine by Laurel Halo
I don't know exactly if I'll ever learn to fully appreciate music like this though

>>65848478
I don't care about tumblr memes, I'm fine with shitting on gender roles but the cover looks so uninspired to me

just listen faster

I think you'd honestly have more luck looking into noise pop.

Shoegaze is too blurry and dream pop is not blurry enough. Candy Claws is between those two.

recommend me noise pop then, I'll still listen to everything posted to not be r00d
>>
>>65847559
the drums sound like ass on loveless
>>
Most of these have already been posted but I'll just second them

>Slowdive
Souvlaki is very essential dream pop/shoegaze Pygmalion is way more minimal and ambient - one of my favorite albums ever but not exactly something you'd try when just getting into the genre.
>Beach House
Teen Dream and Bloom are more lively. Devotion and Depression Cherry are more subdued. I like DC the most but I think that's a contentious opinion. Their music is similarly pseudo-tropical to the Candy Claws album.
>Cocteau Twins
Heaven or Las Vegas is their most poppy album and arguably their best. Treasure, Victorialand, and Blue Bell Knoll have better vocal somersaults.
>A Sunny Day in Glasgow
Sea When Absent and Planning Weed Like Its Acid are ecstatic explosions of sound.
>Sweet Trip
Velocity:Design:Comfort is an IDM/shoegaze hybrid and You Will Never Know Why is straight shoegaze/dream pop. Both are great.
>Broadcast
Their sound effects remind me of AnCo. Haha Sound and The Noise Made By People are great as well as their compilation albums.
>Radio Dept
I've only heard Clinging to a Scheme and it's pretty good.
>Pains of Being Pure At Heart
s/t is kinda jangle pop/dream pop hybrid.
>>
>>65846934
what are you most interested in? like is it the 'fuzziness'/aural texture, vocals, etc.
>>
>>65849205
that's great of you to try and give a more personalized rec, I like the ethereal sound of it, and the little melodies in the background that add some depth
also the melody of her singing
>>
>>65848858
Not him but if you don't mind Jap music Shinsei Kamettechan's early stuff is god tier noise pop

Both Depreciation Guild albums are better than anything Pains of has put out.

No offense, Feldman
>>
OP if you're still here this is nice maybe a bit more shoegaze though

This person gets it. Really all you need
>>
>>65849462
I figured this would be better help rather than recommending you the same 5 albums everyone is posting lmao.

Anyway, here ya go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax0APUSGTrI
>>
finished velocity: design: comfort
like I said before I dig it but I'm not used to the style. I'll try and listen to it from time to time like I do with Laurel Halo stuff to see if it grows on me
I'm starting melody's echo chamber

>>65849867
I'm still here, thanks for the rec

this is my rec for you all, I know she gets a lot of hate on this board for various reasons, but if you want it give it a try, it doesn't even sounds much like grimes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oS9Kgzammc
>>
oh yeah and when I finish all of these (probably tomorrow) I'll make a new thread writing about what I think of each one, don't expect very detailed reviews though. I don't think most of you will see that thread or care but I'll feel guilty if I don't make it, you are being very kind for an imageboard

Seconding this. Took me a while to appreciate Lesser Matters, now I can't tell which of their 3 albums I love the most. New single/album when?

>>65846934
Their first album isn't quite as condensed sonically, but it's still really fucking good Dream Pop/Indie Pop.
>>
>>65849462
see
>>65853731
>>
>>65850257
listen to Candy Claws - Hidden Lands.
>>
>>65852002
Lesser Matters is their best album. But their best work is one of the EPs that came in between Lesser Matters and Pet Grief. Pulling Our Weight.
