Art Blakey - Moanin'
Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder
Miles Davis Quintet - Cookin' With the Miles Davis Quintet
I listened to the first Miles Davis record (which isn't on spotify) and it's really beautiful
also Tequila by Wes Montgomery.
I find Wes gets musak-y sometimes but Tequila is excellent
also, I wrote a new jazz song with lots of chord changes
I'm trying to get it ready to perform tomorrow
it won't do very well but I'm not bothered

Study in Brown - Clifford Brown, Max Roach, and you're missing out on some of the greatest bebop without the 40's
/mu/ - Blue Note & Black Eyes
It's nice to see the /jazz/ general getting more and more replies.
Lately I've been listening to early jazz and ragtime.
For early jazz, my favorites so far are Wilbur Sweatman, Frisco Jass Band and the Original Dixieland Jass Band
And for Ragtime, Vess Ossman and Frank Mazziotta.
Also, where were you when Coon Song is horrific to listen to?
>that really poor recording quality
>that nearly drunk singing
>those song subjects
Pic kind of related, a drawing someone made for me and I (badly) moved to paint.
Anyone like Clifford Brown?
Extrapolation, by John Mclaughlin. His only acceptable record, right before he went full retard on indian music

What do you think about his Mahavishnu Orchestra work?
Can anyone recommend a jazz musician ''similar'' to Wes Montgomery?

Grant Green
I'm worming theu India Naviagation's discography—pretty based label for the most part. Started with some Anthony Davis avant fuckery but found lots of cool free jazz
Also picked up Jaco's Word of Mouth Lp last night
This record. The drums, the bass, the piano, the sax.
