I'm someone who was put off by the memes around Terminal Redux. Then when I looked it up I was even more put off to see Fantano reviewed it. I don't have anything against the guy. It's just that every now and then some band releases an album and it dominates conversation for a while. Then it happens even more when he reviews it. Meanwhile nobody talks about any other new releases, which are really good. I'm put off by this because it's like a microcosm of pop music. Well usually with a band that's specific in their approach to their music like Vektor is (Sci-fi themed Tech Prog Thrash), I find it helpful to listen and understand the bands that they were influenced by. It kinda eases my understanding of what they were thematically intending into a better context for me. Like if you were to listen to Voivod's Killing Technology, you'd be able to hear what Vektor was taking from that.
So why isn't there Klingon Death Metal, and if there is, why haven't you memed the shit out of it?
