Was a teacher for 4 years at a school.
I ended up having to teach 12 of the same kids four years in a row. Got really attached
I'm transferring schools now due to my performance, getting a better pay, higher position, overall immensely better
I can't teach the kids I loved in their final year
I'm incredibly happy and excited for my new job.
I'm on the verge of tears for not seeing my kids on their last year.
Please help me cope.

Not specific to your situation and probably not something you'd usually listen to but Duke recorded that as a tribute to his best friend and it's sort of pregnant with that sort of feeling of sadness at having left a friend behind without having said all you wanted to. It's more hopeful towards the end which I always interpreted as Duke acknowledging all the happiness that friend brought into his life.

Thanks being such a caring teacher to those kids, there really should be more people like you. I don't quite know what to suggest at the moment so perhaps try some Nick Drake since that can almost never go wrong. Also congrats on the new job!
