Enlighten me on Animals please. I've listened to it so many times and I cannot for the life of me see why people like it. Do you like it for the lyrics? I feel like they are so cliché and superficial, as if meant for someone who's never even heard of social criticism, and Roger seems to mistake blatant insults for social criticism as well. The music? Not their best effort by far, and spread out too much in endless noodling.
Seems like the South Park of music to me, yet everyone here seems to regard it as the pinnacle of Pink Floyd, so what am I missing?

Animals is the coldest trip put to music. Loosely based on Orwell, divvying up the human race based on our animal tendencies, guitar solos from Gilmour that are literally fire. C'mon. All bookended beautifully by Pigs on the Wing Parts I & II. It's an incredible concept album. One of the albums I would give a 10/10. Even the album artwork is sublime.
