Does alt-rock get any better than this?

barely
>alt rock

Only if you count shoegaze as alt-rock. Otherwise, no.

IDK if this is a reaction to the genre alt rock, or the term alt rock being applied to this album
But if it's the latter that's a perfectly legitimate genre tag for this album tbqhhh
I honestly wish there were more pop albums with post-hardcore influence. I've still never heard anything else quite like it. the post-hardcore guitarwork gives it this great edge & energy but it still remains this cute, infectious indie pop album throughout. also this is one of the few indie albums where I actually care about the lyrics
...is terrified and change are good albums too but nowhere near this. and the less said about that horrendous reunion album the better

the album and the band are usually considered post-punk or dance-punk
"alt-rock" is literally the most generic thing you can label an artist
its like an umbrella term
gorgeous album nonetheless

cute pup
Dismemberment Plan in general gets a lot better than that album.
...Is Terrified, for example, is a far better album
