They tried too hard to do their own OK Computer. They failed miserably.
Legacy is a great song, though

posted in a hurry because it was about to purge. to elaborate - highly enjoyable if a little over-zany at times. I think their debut was stronger. but still, great band overall, one of the best to benefit from the whole britpop hype era where basically any british pop/rock band could get coverage. also get all their eps if you haven't heard em, great stuff

I met Dominic Chad a few years back at a charity event. Seems like a very down to earth bloke.

I wouldn't say that at all. it's definitely about 20 minutes too long but there's a lot of good songs like six, negative, legacy, being a girl

Fantastic album, one of the most underrated britpop bands

awful opinion kys

It doesn't flow, it's too overworked: too many unnecessary cultural references, unnecessary instrumentation, overly baroque structure.
Nothing says "pretentiousness" in rock as having a meaningless song called "Interlude" in the middle of the album.

It's basically prog album so you shouldn't complain about pretentiousness
How does this compare to Attack of The Grey Lantern? I liked Mansun back in the day, but they were overshadowed by other (worse) Britpop bands.
Were any of their subsequent albums decent? Grey Lantern is a strong 8 for me.

I think is one of the greatest albums. There are no unnecessary cultural references.
