Do you get your distortion from your amp or from pedals? if it's pedals, can't go past the roland jc-120. Best clean sound going and handles pedals really well. I got one for $550 AU

I just use a Boss DS-1 for my distortion. My guitar teacher said that Blues Jr, DS-1 and the Jaguar HH I'm getting would be a good match, but I'm not certain.

I'm not too sure about those ones, they are probably decent but 40w is not gonna get you above a loud drummer. There's a bunch of used JC120's going on gumtree australia right now for under $1000. Another option is a used Fender Deville, usually get them around $800.

If you wanna buy new, you're generally gonna get something about half as good as if you buy used for the same price. Most of these older Fender and Roland amps are built to last, i recommend them anon

look on gumtree. you should be able to find a jcm900 or jcm2000 (dsl, don't get tsl) for like 600-700 then pick up a good 2x12 closed back cab for a few hundred more.

1+ for the Traynor. Just got the 40w used for $500 & it sounds great/is loud as fuck. Pick up a 1x12 extension cab and you're set.
