>Electro-swing again
Damn, he can't catch a break
the most promising thing he's done in a while
though i hope him signing to warp doesn't mean more obnoxious rustie beats
sounds great. im excited
>>65658263
>actually experimenting with new sounds
>where are the hi hats and 808's
Damn, he can't catch a break.
also this isn't electroswing you ignorant fuck.
>>65658312
It's called a joke you dummie
I don't really dig it man. Doesn't sound Niniggerish enough.
>>65658237
Not as great as 25 Bucks, but I'm still looking forward to what else is in store.
I thought it was good until 1:26 or so when the hook comes in. The bass was kinda underwhelming.
>>65658237
I'm liking it a lot, a very different sound from XXX and Old
>>65658557
I like it 25 bucks but of all Danny's songs, why choose that one to compare?
I'm not really felling it yet, it seems like one of those attempts of an alternative artist to make something more mainstream.
Huge Danny fan so I'm still hyped for his album.
>>65658237
looking forward to new album if its like this
>>65658601
25 Bucks was Old's biggest single. When It Rain feels like the same for whatever his new album's gonna be.
>>65658452
kill yourself
>>65658958
wasn't that dip? it's got more yt views at the very least and it's sort of closer sonically
>>65658958
>>65659008
it was ODB.
This was dope
>>65658593
lol
He's on Warp now?
>>65658237
Why am I diggin it so much?
>>65659633
I don't know but I'm in the same boat
Best thing about XXX was how Danny switched up the pitch of his voice during tracks. He doesn't do that enough anymore. Still a pretty good track, and will probably get better after more listens
>>65660118
delet this
>>65660118
this is cool
First time listening I almost died from the anticipation until 1:30 kicked in and was completely surprised by the 4 bar kick pattern.
Fucking yes. On constant repeat, psychedelic drive with the classic Danny Brown real shit.
Can he make 3 consecutive great albums in a row? I hope so
he got his tooth fixed :(
>>65658237
This is really fucking fresh
>>65660281
it's just a grill. He will never fix his tooth, he said it multiple times, it's a part of his image
>>65660118
noice.
Yo why is there a dog alone up there
>>65660369
Oh good... he almost lost a fan.
>>65660369
isnt that worse tho
Is anyone else having a LOT of difficulty loading the Warp and Bleep websites?
damn son this sh! l i t a f flam

GET YOUR ASS ON THE FLOOR NOW
>>65661027

I really like this!
>>65661047
it's performance art/alt poetry
>>65661068
i dig it
>new Danny Brown track
>new clipping. EP
>new Pokemon gameplay at e3
I'm a little less depressed today, /mu/
>>65660244
We haven't heard this one yet, of course we don't know how the two after are going to turn out.
>>65661290
I'm happy to hear that anon :)
Feeling gratitude for all the good things in life is one of the best ways to be happier, even the small things we take for granted like eating a good breakfast or having a comfy bed to sleep in at night!
>>65658237
God damn that beat is fire
This is one of the most interesting things he's done in a while.
Very excited for the new album.
Fucker went detroit techno on this shit damn,
While all the other rappers try to keep up with the trends, he goes back to his roots even more.
Can't hate him really
This track was great. The entire time I was expecting some insane 808 drop. But nope. Fucking blue balled in the best way. If this is what his album is like then I can't fucking wait.
Goddamn finally.
Probably my favourite rap single of the year, let alone in general. So much fucking energy, and just pure bars on bars. Great mix of old-school lyricism with new-school flow. Danny Brown is proving to be a GOAT
The beat sounds like it's building up to something but it never happens.
Video and rapping are grade A though. Weird that he's on Warp now.
>>65663079
By in general, I mean spanning all genres by the way, not of all time
I hope he leaves behind the trap shit of Old. He can have good production that's still experimental, with a few unorthodox bangers here and there. It was depressing to see someone so talented make a song like Handstand
fuck I'm so glad he's going down this route and not some trendy garbage.
This shit is lit.
>>65663117
Warp's been inching towards this direction for a while now, see: HudMo
I am so fucking happy, sticky this thread everybody needs to see this
>>65658237
dance track
5/10
not bad at all
>>65663362
>5/10
>>65663117
>The beat sounds like it's building up to something but it never happens
le where's the drop XDDDDD
now that he's on warp he should collab with opn
>>65660369
Phew
the subtle aspect ratio change from 2:38 to full 16:9 is great, like he took us through all of his past and now he shows the current state that hasn't changed much, only that now only one or two people are dancing instead of them all
dope
i really like danny brown. thank you for reading my post.
Danny always said he grew up listening to Detroit Techno.
>>65663661
>>65662931
lel, are you serious? in what what is this detroit techno? do you know what techno even is?
>>65663684
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_techno
>>65658576
that's the best part you nigga
>>65663144
Have you even heard i will? Part of his gimmick is his obsession with fucking.
>>65658237
not as good as his best or as bad as his worst
>Have you ever been stiffed at work?
>No I've never been stiffed...at work ;)
>dat camera zoom
I don't know why I find this so funny but I do
>>65664024
is it because he's a furry?
>>65664161
yeah it's a pretty good meme
>>65658576
yeah i agree with this
So, can we all agree Danny Brown is the new skool ODB?
I'm new to Danny Brown but I have a burning question
What, if any, does Danny Brown have to do with Outkast
because they sound similar.
The instrumental is addicting and he just flows on it so effortlessly.
Seeing a lot of people complaining about "Where are the drops?" Go back to your fucking dab music/Soundcloud rapper bullshit
>>65665208
Well I mean Danny Brown likes Outkast if that counts for anything. Then again most if not all rappers like Outkast so he probably doesn't have much to do with them besides liking them.
>>65663684
Better question do you even know what Detroit House/Techno is?
>>65663866
>>65665389
Yes, and this is not it
>>65663362
cool meme faggot
>>65658237
I like it but the mixing is awful.
>>65665607
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpdiMcEeTJA
You not recognizing the sample from the song already tells me enough about your "techno" knowledge
>>65666160
This is not techno, perhaps you could call it proto-techno or that it would go on to influence it - but it itself is not techno as the rhythm patterns don't match up.
Besides, there is difference between the techno that came out of Europe and Detroit techno.
>>65663427
fuck that sounds amazing
The beat sounds pretty good actually, but his flow here sounds more annoying than usual. Maybe I'll get used to it though.
>>65666252
genre nazis are the worst
ofcourse when it rain isn't exact detroit techno which pops up first when you google the term, but you can't deny you can hear the influence with the 4 bar kick pattern and atmosphere, most people expected heavy 808s with trill hi hats to come but this came out and it suits Danny pretty fucking good. showing his roots and his early influences aswell
tl;dr - genres aren't exclusive
>>65663427
IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN
>>65666391
i'm sorry that words and categorizations mean things!
I want to get into danny brown. Any recommendations?
>>65666523
xxx
if you like xxx
try old
after that try hybrid
>>65666523
XXX
First half of Old (Though I like the whole thing. People on here are mostly against the second half).
Hot Soup and The Hybrid are good if you're trying to get more into his rapping
>>65666438
Be sorry because they don't.
>>65666523
Die Like a Rockstar
honestly would like it more if it had 808s on it
>>65667843
>>65667347
lol, let me guess: Derrida fanboy?
>>65666160
holy shit, I didn't realize similar to the original the beat was. not to say the beat is weaker just the source is future as fuck
>>65663684
It's not like he's rapping over a straight techno beat but the hook is very reminiscent of the detroit techno scene plus he literally namedrops cajmere, one of the pioneers of the chicago house (and as a result the detroit techno) scene
>>65669107
chicago house influenced detroit techno, sure, but stylistically they're quite different...
>hook is very reminiscent of the detroit techno scene
how? because of the 808s?
>>65658237
The fuck is this shit
>>65659924
This tbqh senpai
ewnwse and party all the time are his best songs.
Objectively.
this is pretty good tho
