honestly John was completely justified here
when Brian died John was absolutely devastated, he loved that man, and for Paul to just swoop in and assume his role the way he did (when it was always John's band to begin with anyway) was arrogant as shit
Paul tried to micromanage the group as if it were his and even though he probably had the best of intentions ("make good music") he somehow couldn't see how fucking self-centered it was to not only try to "lead" a group that wasn't actually his, but also to try to take credit for literally everything from that point on
