copying from dead thread

topsters2 has to be fucking up the moment topsters goes back offline, so I'll just have to post this old one and leave my more recent and passionate love for the work of Phew remain unsung.

>>65594588
15/17 I think I lost count somewhere
I especially really really like that Can album
have you heard much of Al Di Meola's work?

>>65594632
I remember that one Uncle Acid album being advertised to me one summer. It feels like so long ago.
Do you like Cathedral or Coven or Boris?

>>65594874
Who told you to listen to that Dreams album? Was it me or someone else? That's a good album there.
If you like Sunshower you might like the band Sugar Babe she formed with Tatsuro Yamashita

>>65595213
Have you heard of つしまみれ?

>>65595418 and >>65603302
for more patrish meme factor you can stick Aunt Sally somewhere on that chart
listen to it too

>>65595914
5/7 I really like that Can album
first time I looked at that chart I didn't see it and had a moment
have you heard Paradise of Replica by After Dinner?

>>65596571
10/12
Seeing that ミドリ album put a smile on my face. Has its meme factor worn off? I'd recommend you something like it if there were anything like it.
If you haven't heard tricot, hear tricot.

>>65597222 and >>65603173
13/14 seeing ミドリ on this one didn't elicit the same response but you got a higher score than him
I'd really like to know where crescendocore came from so I can recommend to people music that came before crescendocore
If you haven't heard that Ichiko Aoba album floating around you might want to

>>65598416
I unironically like that Nightwish album and will not apologize

>>65599706
15/18 I have an intuition that you will like the band ヒカシュー

>>65603367
7/9 nice After Dinner
Have I told you to listen to Phew, Haco, and Tenko yet? If so, why aren't they on your chart?

Someone tell me something to listen to right now. The silence is killing me.
>>
>>65603520

Don't have an actual charty chart but here. If you gonna rec please do it based off the bottom 5 please (so HUGE classical pieces or some kinda cool nifty modern jazz plz.)

Bouta drunk rec so sorry if some recs don't make sense. Love you guys though.

>>65603256
Maybe check out Amon Duul II - Yeti? It's liek Larks' crazy polyphonic shit combined with the jammy feel of Aja.

Also check out that one Glenn Branca live symphony that has 100 guitars. It's like the "logical conclusion" meme to like quite a few things on your chart.

>>65603173
My drunk self does not notice John Frusicante's Niandra LaDes album on this. If you like the kinda flawed yet charming feel of some of the folky albums on your top 10 you might dig it.

>>65603160
Oh shit the variety of stuff on here's making me feel woozy. If I throw up it's all your fault. Nah I probably would think this is cool sober probably.

Les Rallizes Denudes - Rivista Archives 20th Anniversary

Some people like certain discs of that whole thing, but I think your tastes may like all of them.

>>65603070
Holy shit somebody put a Joan Baez on their chart.

Anyway what you may need is the Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble's version of "In C" by Terry Riley.

>>65602977
Oh shit. You probably know what it is you like. I see an Ildjarn album though, and that means you might wanna check out Bone Awl's Meaningless Leaning Mess or maybe Arnaut Pavle's self titled.

Have you heard Jun Togawa cover Comme á la Radio on the album 20th Jun Togawa? Granted it doesn't have the touch of the Art Ensemble but at least she doesn't sound like a french person.
also if you haven't heard them yet I'd also recommend Halmens and Hikashu, both featuring Toshiro Sensui who was in Yapoos, and Phew.

Justin Timberlake - 20/20 Experience (the first one not the second one)
Mr. Fingers - Fingers 2016
Kahn - Over deh Soh/Abattoir

>>65604279
Yeah, for most versions of the music people tend to prefer Rainbow. But with the particular version of In C I recced it's a special case like everyone goes all out with that one. A good lesson to learn in that especially modern classical renditions of stuff may differ a lot from one to another.

There isn't even anything here. What do you normally do with your life? There are like 60 other boards on this site and a billion more sites out there. Go post your essential /mu/core chart there.
>>
>>65606885
I don't see what your point is.
Surely the fact that I have other stuff to do in my life is the reason I haven't been able to scour random albums on rym to pretend to like them in order to please you?
>>
>>65606885
>>65606973
in addition to that, what is wrong with me not liking stuff that's more obscure?
Is there something immoral about me just enjoying music and getting on with it?
>>
>>65606973
You are posting in a thread whose purpose is to give people who do put effort in their music taste opportunity to show it off. You have zero business in this thread. You are the one awkward orbiter who hears a keyword in a conversation about military fighters and takes it as a cue to prattle on about his airplane ride to Florida.
>>
>>65607074

You're using the word obscure like it holds any meaning. You are calling Tool 'underground' to justify why you haven't heard them. This is a chart where people show off their music taste. Why would you show off what you don't have?
>>
>>65607995
Why don't I have "taste"? I have shown that there is music I like. Some of it you may have heard, some of it you may have not heard. I don't understand why that's relevant to the idea of me liking it. You just want to feel smart by liking things that less people have heard of.
>>
>>65607912
this is the viewpoint everyone should take
>>
>>65608101
The albums you like are the albums everyone likes. There is nothing on there that would suggest this chart was made by a person. Do you not know what taste is?
>>
>>65608187
just leave him time so he can delevop his horizons
>>
>>65608187
taste is a person's particular liking for certain styles. I tend to like noise rock, or the noisier side of experimental rock, but also some psychedelic rock albums too. I also like some jazz and music where jazz has an influence on rock music (Beefheart, Stetson, Zappa)

As an attempt to appease you for your obsession with eclecticism, Fapadorkly is one of my few five stars on rym but it only has 158 ratings. It is literally never mentioned on the /mu/ archive other than by me. How is that /mu/core droning?
>>
>>65608263

>Fapadorkly is one of my few five stars on rym but it only has 158 ratings. It is literally never mentioned on the /mu/ archive other than by me.
you need to stop caring about those criterias honestly
just listen to more and more music of various themes, and like what you like.
>>
>>65608283

>>

>>65608317
>you need to stop caring about those criterias
I don't. It just seems like this annoying guy does, and I'm trying to calm him
>>
>>65608281
So Fapadorkly is that one black friend you keep so you don't look like a racist to your friends. However if the friends weren't pieces of shit they won't care that you hate niggers. Let that be food for thought.
>>
>>65608362
I have other proverbial black friends, they're just not my best friends. Their melanin level does not play a part in that fact
>>
>>65603520
This is the first time I see Miharu Koshi on a chart, especially that particular album. Parallelism is one of my favorite japanese albums of all time
>>
>>65608426
Wikipedia tells me that Fapardokly isn't even a real band and the guy responsible for it has been in many many bands, none of which appear on your chart. Clearly you don't know these friends very well. You will in time, but until then, can you please quit counting every celebrity whose hand you shook as your friend?
>>
>>65608550
that's correct about fankhauser. You're also correct in saying I haven't known about him for very long, I listened to the album first on may 23rd.
are you trying to imply that i'm only pretending to like that album? If so, then you're wrong in that regard. I could give you the reasons as to why I like it, but I feel like you wouldn't actually be interested.
