brutal DM is for nu metal fans in disguise, and you should disregard the opinions of anyone who listens to it

its awesome!
you probably just dont like tech death.
metal isn't for everyone, its an acquired taste.

>Brutal
you have no idea what you're talking about m8
If it sounds excruciating, it's doing it's job. Extreme metal is different from most music in that it often tries intentional to be ugly, gross, unpleasant, etc. If you don't like or aren't aware of that premise, you won't enjoy it. That being said, there are plenty of better, and more accessible albums than None So Vile in extreme metal and metal in general.
I would recommend a melodic album like The Sound of Perseverance by Death or The Jester Race by In Flames if you'd like to ease yourself into extreme metal with something that still may come across as conventionally beautiful.

your friend has good taste
TDM is pretty much all I listen to these days...
It took years for me to actually appreciate it, I grew up listening to the big four of trash, it took me a while to progress to bands like Slipknot and Lamb of God with a more aggressive vocal range...
I remember a few years ago I stumbled upon Gojira's "Love" and that's when my love for death metal really started taking off, and it started to really click, I could start to feel the emotion the artists are trying to convey.
Here's some entry DM

So yeah, you can't just turn on TDM and expect to vibe with it, it takes years of conditioning from most accessible metal.
Playing an instrument helps progress your love & appreciation of metal music a lot faster.

>big four of trash
damn that's embarrassing...
Big four of THRASH

Agree
I started with "entry level metal" like machine head, killswitch engage, fear factory etc. Took me a while to "get" DM.
Now I can't get enough of it.
Fk I love none so vile, so good...
but if you're looking for the BEST metal album, you need colors:

It isn't. I like metal but tech death/brutal death are the worst forms of death metal.
