yr welcome. here it is. i did about 12 takes and i still feel weird about it. I tried not to make the lyrics too gripping so the electronic voice of the final track stands out more.

album will be up in 10-15 minutes

This is great. This album will be better than the first one.

>>65498952
I love these. I'm recording a real record right now and all the tracks are like 10 minute long folk-prog-Joanna Newsom shit, and this is the exact opposite of that which is so great.

We'll see

DGUS is a hard thing to beat

I'm still listening though
>>
>>65499454
This is better than the original in every single way so far. I think it's the pressure of the last one being so loved that got people to work harder.
>>
>it costs money

wut
>>
shit this is a huge step up from the last one, i can tell already

the flow is awesome so far--its hard to even separate the tracks in my head. and that's a good thing, cuz some of the tracks (like my first one) are a ton better in context.

1. Welcome to the atmosphere of the second album. This is basically a musical version of the cover (which I made yay). It’s haunting, strings don’t sound bad, it starts out great, and the Microsoft Sam vocals are mmm on point. I like the Lyrics. Welcome to your vacation. 8.5/10

2. Thrashy, distorted, heavy, and isn’t repetitive at all. It really gets the listener in the mood for the rest of the album, while being as up-front and direct in its mood as possible. Good second track, and it’s one of the cleanest-- especially the percussion and the way the guitar goes all bleepy at the end. idk. 8/10

3. Comes right out of the other one pretty much seamlessly. The melody at the start is better, and the percussion is more prominent, AND there’s more instrument variation, but the sample is meh. Definitely another heavy one-- not a bad thing, feels sorta like I could dance to it, but it’s not quite as fucky and clean as the other one. Anxious. 7.5/10

4. I made this! Mic quality still badzo.

5. alright, I kekked a lot on this one actually. The ‘joke’ tracks on this album are ten times better than on DGUS. still a 4/10 though, sorry.

I'll reply as I finish the ratings, I'm a little slow
>>
>>65500219
6. Desk-banging music at its finest. Metronome? The guitar is pretty good, and the percussion-ish rhythm is nice and satisfying-- reminds me of Sad Skeleton a little bit, from DGUS. 6/10

7. skeletons! i gave up, skeleton. give up. die. skeleton. give up, skeleton! 2/10

8. God, this is a nice kind of smooth. The vocal, as distorted as it is, and slowed as it is, actually really fits. I like this especially in its place, as a sort of transitional song, ambient, yet pretty emotional. It could do with a /little/ more variation, but other than that it’s pretty great anon. 8/10

9. Yeah, you were right, wait for instruments. Maybe redo this one in Chinese Cartoon’s 3rd LP, because your voice is really good when backed up with something to sing to. In a room with other people, when you can’t control it very well because of the quieting, it lacks those good qualities! good lyric. 5/10

10. I’ve been pushing for the harpsichord outro on “Ouch (ow ouch ow fuck ow fuck ouch my foot ouch fuck ow)” for about 10 albums now, and as it’s finally arrived, there’s a feeling of catharsis. For an ‘outro’, it’d make a pretty good transitional track, and the harpsichord is clean. There are a lot of these sorts of less-heavy tracks in the early bit of the album, but this is one of the more pleasant ones. 8/10
>>
>>65500266
11. wha, nice, experimental, are you watering your plants? how is there a beat on this one? what is all the distortion? are you the ISIS Frisbee guy? is this Music? Utterly terrifying. In terms of the title, pic related. 5/10, but deserves a place on the final tracklist

12. Starts too loud, but the heavy tone works throughout the rest of the track. It moves quickly enough and has enough going on that in the 1 minute it never starts lulling or getting broken. Is it ‘skeletons home’? what 8.5/10

13. Nice little calm shop/elevator music, but still a little repetitive. The strings should have a bit more change too, don’t focus everything in the melody. Nice outro. 6/10

14. it’s so forlorn. Loved your tracks from DGUS and this doesn’t disappoint-- less harsh and totally mellow, and your voice suits it well. The lead-in to the last chorus kinda thing? is nice. This is a depressing album. 8.5/10

15. eh. it’s pretty good. enunciate your words more though 6/10

HERE WE GO
THE REVIEW FOR MY TRACKS BE COMING IN THE NEXT ONE
>>
>>65500560
I made track 11 and i'm glad you "like" it. The water sound is me shaking a water bottle. The beat is me hitting my desk and strapping a mic to one of the strings on my bass and playing it unplugged. The distortion is me rubbing the mic on my mousepad and humming random notes. I'm not the ISIS frisbee guy. Maybe
>>
I like the songs that are obviously keys played through a VST of another instrument for ~58 seconds, they're charming
>>
>>65500844
Thanks man I tried my hardest
>>
>>65500560
16. It’s like those bleep-heavy tracks next to 27 on DGUS but actually listenable! Actually really nice ambient, reminds me of Treefingers. This is a houseguy thing right? I like your tracks but this could do with a variation in the second half, like in ‘hehe i am a scamp’ from IDEL. 7/10

17. I know you said you disliked this, but it’s really dramatic, and the parts where the piano actually goes high are super satisfying. This is where your style makes me happy and warm inside and cream myself a little, maybe I’m just a sucker for piano? 8/10

18. So many tracks on here about skeletons, so many about depression. This one is... rough. It might be a little too distorted and while the ‘moan’-sounding stuff in the second half works with the rest, the ‘rest’ isn’t my favorite, won’t lie. 5.5/10

19. this one is for you. Groovy and has the fucking shoutout at the beginning, can’t not love it mang. The synth at the end is nice, the shouted ‘Skeleton!’ is nice and soft... overall it’s a great achievement of /mu/ technology. 9/10

20. Yeah, I am a sucker for piano, agh. This one’s a little less anchored, but that works in its favor. I love the way you’re not afraid to leap between notes completely without expecting it-- on a slower track like this, you can really appreciate that. Make more slow tracks! 8.5/10
>>
>>65500889
>make more slow tracks
YOU GOT IT!
>>
>>65500219

#3 here, this one's a bit of a commentary on a track I did like 7 years ago and posted on /mu/ and, I don't know how many people heard it probably around 500 but it was basically designed to blow up speakers and I'm sorry
if I blew up anyone's speakers

Anyways it samples Arca, Lemon Demon and Elite Gymnastics
>>
>>65500889
21. Did they, though? This is alright but a little bland, and the synths aren’t anything special. Sounds like Mario 64 music. Thanks for the lead-in to the next one, I needed that. 6/10

22. Worrying, honestly. This is one of the few tracks which really goes well with the title-- I get a mental image of some trees walking around in a swamp or something. Nice loop, doesn’t go on too long. Actually haunting where other tracks aren’t-- it fits nicely in the almost-middle of the album. Though we’re nearly two thirds through now. 7.5/10

23. it’s so calming. The low volume is what differentiates this ambient track from an album full of other ambient tracks, unfortunately. Would go good underneath some other instruments, or longer/louder with more variation. Atmospheric, though, which is good. 6.5/10

24. Track that goes away from the generally ethereal and ambient feeling of the album with something genuinely coherent. It’s a nice little breakup. The mr skeltal and trumpet are pretty great. Overall the most well-thought-out in some ways, like Sad Skeleton was in DGUS, but it doesn’t quite reach that awe-inspiring level. 8/10

25. Kinda bland. Gets good near the end. I don’t have a lot to say on this one, honestly. 6/10
>>
>>65501329
26. monsta jam! 2/10

27. You’ve got a nice voice man, talk to me more argfjgjdfh 5/10

28. Actually some nice pretty strings and shit on there, anon. It would be nice if the audio wasn’t low-quality. If you actually recorded and made it, good on you, it’s nice. Another Sad Skeleton reminder, just because there’s some actual emotion and whatever in it. Sudden ending is meh, though. 8/10

29. sample that gets kinda interesting but mostly doesn’t, inaudible vocals, and some desk banging I guess? I don’t know what was gone for here 4/10

30. Some nice fast-paced percussion paired with stuff it’s not usually paired with. I really like a lot of the sounds here-- it’s got a really weird tone and a clear first/second half, and doesn’t get stale for even a second. 9/10
>>
>>65501472
"All the fun we had. ALL THE MEMORIES WE MADE" is making me laugh so fucking hard

31. As we enter into the actually awesome last 4 tracks of the album, it’s an opportunity to reflect. What did we learn on this vacation? This is the plane back home. This is the moment of realization. skeleton learned nothing. skeleton gave nothing. The piano, wavery church organ, faint faded guitar... fuck, man, it’s really great. I should have a depression more often. 10/10

32. A cohesive, multi-layered guitar track with some genuinely nice moments. I like the build into the climax, which is just... nice and satisfying. Glad there’s no vocals on this one, it works as is. There are drums for like a second, or is that another guitar layer? 9.5/10

33. And the plane lands. With your instrument back, with lyrics that actually go pretty directly with the album AND the title of the track, and with such unpredictable, calming, sad music box tunes... man. It’s really satisfying, especially as a second-to-last song. Honestly beautiful. 10/10

34. all the memories we’ve made along the way. The opener gets some drums and temporarily turns into Idioteque for half the time. As soon as the voice cuts out, the transition makes me cum pretty hard. These bookend tracks are so groovy and fucked up, they work perfectly for the album. Especially, /especially/ the Microsoft Sam voice. 9/10

Overall this is better than DGUS. DGUS is still Great but there are so many good things to be found in the first 5 and last 5 tracks of SRV.

Will post proposed tracklist soon.

Thanks boo <3 I spent a lot of time on that second one to get it to sound how I wanted. Glad you caught the music box vibe, that was what I was going for. Your track early on was real nice and I always love and agree with your write-ups--sadly I was unable to do one myself this time round. Glad to have done the record justice.

Probably another 2-3 months before another CC, but I plan on doing a celebratory EP on the 13th since I'm getting my free downloads back.

I made 1 and 34 and I'm so glad you guys liked them! I felt kind of like an egotistical cunt taking both but I was so proud of the original composition and the drums separately and really wanted to add a narrative to one of these albums, something we haven't really seen much of apart from Ecco Clams.

It worked out! Them's some high quality synthetics, you're good at what you do. And I'm a die-hard structurefag so I understand completely. I wrote the second to last track specifically based on your last track!
