with what i said in the OP, weighing souls with sand is a fantastic album but i'm pretty sure that's the only shoegaze i'd gladly listen to these days. shame because i used to love have a nice life and slowdive and shit but can't enjoy them for shit now.

I never liked loveless but I was really into APTBS a few years ago. their records have gotten a bit stale but imo they've always been more about the live show.
I wouldn't be so quick to write off all shoegaze though. the first three swirlies albums are fantastic.
