Just listened to this for the first time and it blew me away. Creative melodies all over the place with exciting, lively musicianship. Please recommend me more exciting music to discover.

Their other albums
Thee Oh sees

Yes, I have done so. Other artists I mean. I already know about Morgan Delt and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
>>65343797
Reaalllly? These guys are fucking boring as fuck. Do they have a new album that is way better or something?
>>65343674
>>65343926

Alright I'm on it. In the meantime have a recommendation, thread

I apologize for the mistitled album and the shitty quality image.
>>65344082
Took a minute but I'm down. Have you heard these dudes? A bit darker but you will see the similarity.
I totally agree with you. It is one of my AOTY and it flows so great.
>>65344366
bruh did you put it on repeat

Very nice, already dling the discography.
This one is rather jammy but with very focused, varied and lively guitar work.

Duuuude, I've been listening to Earthless for like 12 years, seen them several times. One of the best guitar players on the face of the earth.
Have you fucked with Mammatus?

(I think the beginning of this one is kinda wanky but it goes places)

Why yes I did
>>65344678
Because like, one of the conceptual aspects is that it loops perfectly back to front. Is why I mentioned it.

Oh shit, I have something for you man. Are you familiar with Colour Haze?

I'm on the last song, this shit held my attention throughout and was fantastic.
On spotify, tracks 2 and 5 were much much quieter than the rest of the album, eg I had to crank up the volume to hear the loud heavy guitar at the beginning of King of Flowers. Is this an actual characteristic of the music?
here's another example of shit that's jammy but not like, Grateful Dead relaxed noodling.

Okay so in that I was recommended this awesome band, Weird owl, this has been a successful thread.
But that said the rest of /mu/ has collectively failed in hooking me the fuck up. Everything else in this thread is shit that I heard or posted myself.
It doesn't have to be new guys, what's an album that if you thought somebody hadn't heard, they would NEED to hear IMMEDIATELY?

I know Colour Haze (and love them) but haven't heard of Mammatus.
You seem to know way more than me man. We should ask you for recs instead of the other way around lol.
>>65345034
>Is this an actual characteristic of the music?
Definitely not. Every track has the same volume on the version I have.
>>65345238
Just to be clear, are you looking for exciting music along the same vein of King Gizzard, or just exciting music in general?
Erpland is a straight up prog record unlike the others ITT, but it has that musicianship you're looking for in spades.
This is just straight up blues rock but it's utterly smooth and well executed.

You are very kind.
I don't give a shit what style or genre it is, I just want to hear something where the person making it was clearly inspired and excited by the possibility of what each subsequent note could hold. If you feel me.

I will be checking the thread intermittently but in case you peace out, please look into Mars Red Sky. They have a new album this year that is just fantastic. The first song is awesome but it's a slow burner, you gotta let it simmer.

I know. Its like a circle.
Its by far the most creative output of the past 3 years regardless of the sound

>Its by far the most creative output of the past 3 years regardless of the sound
100% disagree on the basis of this record

I love this album. I was worried cos their last two were boring as fuck. It's the Fuzz sequel I needed.
literally DUDE: the thread
