Download has a lot of underrated bands to be honest, I'm quite looking forward to seeing Havok, Glassjaw, Wage War, Santa Cruz, Pennywise, Raging Speedhorn, Cane Hill, hell even Bury Tomorrow - fuck it. so mix that with a bunch of pleb guilty pleasure bands (Attila, Periphery, ETC) and a lot of wreckless good times with friends that reminds me of "the good old days" and I'm in.
but you're right most people don't go for the music - it's just the headliners usually. one of my friends said he was just gonna follow me round since i saw 30 bands last time haha.
i've got Bloodstock coming up as well which I'm going for similar reasons as Download

War metal might very well be the most repetitive genre in the history of music. It all sounds exactly the same, just super fast power chord aggression with no band standing out from the mass. korn's debut is pretty inventive tbqh, even if it did spawn an awful genre very little of nu-metal actually has that much to do with that album (including all of korn's other albums)
i'm not sure i'd go as far as to say I like it, but it definitely deserves props as a legitimate artistic accomplishment which is more than you can say for almost every other nu-metal album
