Me and some good friends of mine operate an small electronic/ house/ experimental/ avant garde label in New Jersey called the Dead Air Collective.
We just put out a new VAPORWAVE release called Soundware for Girls by Barbae.
Its the culmination of about 6 month of collecting songs from old Barbie video games movies albums etc.
Id really appreciate it if you guys check it out, i know youll all love it!

The concept took alot of consideration but there's luckily a large and diverse body of work for Barbie music and the fact that most of it exists only to sell dolls fits perfect into the whole "capitalistic nightmare" that vaporwave represents, or so we intended.
It's because they're dolls; boy's toys (or rather, toys intended for male audiences) are too easy aha, it also says something about the gender bias and one-sided thought process seen in some independent music

El Vacio Del Gaucho (2015) was composed over several months and, while recorded 'live' (simultaneously) it has overdubs and some studio trickery.
Our jam albums Zapadas vol 1 and 2 are selections of completely raw recordings and 100% improvised music made just for fun but are pretty nice albums in themselves. Then there's the debut self titled album from 2012.
