can we just talk for a second about how good the sound design is in this game? not even necessarily the OST (which is still good) but just everything you hear. i haven't heard a game SOUND this good in ages

i'm fairly certain they all use the same dynamic mixing engine and also calculate complex reverbs (based on all surfaces in the area and the location of the source) on the fly. INCLUDING standing waves. modern audio tech is stunning

This. Pretty much any modern AAA game you should be ignoring the soundtrack, they're all fucking trash.
It's going to a long time before games are actually recognised as art, and people put the effort in to utilise the medium to it's full potential.
