Solid song. I guess mathcore must be pretty weak this year if this is the best you've heard though, this is the kind of track that would be time well spent on an album but not really outshine anything else. This is like the metal by numbers version of a mathcore song, 5/8+5/8+7/8+5/8+2/4 with screams on accents, 4/4 resolution, fusion-y noodling for a bit, reprise main riff. So mindblowing!

Vocals and drum machine are fine, you just need to slap an "experimental" label onto whatever genre you best fall into (death doesn't really seem to be it, honestly, but that's more the kind of thing you figure out a few songs in) to adjust expectations accordingly and people should be able to dig it. A few of the riffs seemed rather uninspired but then others were pleasant surprises so I'm not really sure, I'd tell you to work on consistency but that is admittedly easier said than done with riff salad songs.

There was a section about a third of the way through that wouldn't be out of place in an Opeth song, so take that as you will.

1983-89 were the glory years for thrash so most of the stuff from then I'm a huge fan of extreme thrash (whether it's actually blackened thrash like Necrodeath, death/thrash like Num Skull, or just super heavy thrash like Dark Angel and Energetic Krusher), thrash rooted in speed/power like Deadly Blessing, Whiplash, and Meliah Rage, tech thrash like Coroner, Despair, and Nasty Savage, and just plain riffy thrash your head off thrash like Deathrow and Mortal Sin. 80's thrash is the best thrash period.

You think you can't hear the bass, but you can actually hear the bass in most metal stuff. The lower end of the big guitar sound that you're listening to is all bass actually. It's just that when played together, it seems like there is no bass presence so people think bass isn't important in metal.
>>
>>65131582
so brutal it doesn't even have to be brutal anymore
>>
>>65131598
I don't even get the "le black metal has no bass xd" meme. You can clearly hear the bass even in early darkthrone shit.

>>

pretty nice and thorough chart

i'd ditch that cursed earth demo and put in either adjacent disciples of power album though

the order seems a bit arbitrary desu, could be reorganized

that terminator album is hardly tech at all, i don't know what started that meme

props on acrimony, spectral incursion, and nasty savage tho, underrated/overlooked picks

i need to check out some of those newer bands too

also, add the antagonist e/p

I want to love this album but there's just so much filler

>Disassembled
>Mass Darkness
>MHIOTN
>Pressure
>Celestial Violence/Frail

Should've kept these and made an EP.
>>
>>65131646
I'll fix it when I'm not lazy, I was planning to remove some of the albums, especially the ones you mentioned, I made that chart like 2 months ago and I only assembled all the good tech-thrash I knew without any organization and then abandoned it

powertrap is maybe not exactly tech, but it's pretty wonky, busy, and flashy so it's close enough (more tech than a lot of other stuff labeled tech at least)

ominous prophecy is more death metal, and simultaneously less technical, poor album anyways

invincible enemy sounds pretty darn tech to me, and it's thrashier than the second album as well

Laziness aside, I loved the chart, and grabbed it since I love Vektor, Revocation, and Black Fast which you put all next to each other so I took it as a sign.
I came out of it with Artillery and Doom so far, so thanks a ton for that.
>>
>>65132055
np, yeah I like those 3 very much and I tried putting the more modern ones near the bottom

I think you’re right.

I didn’t want to slap mismatching riffs one after the other and make a clichéd riff salad, but make an organic piece where everything flows into each other and has a logical evolution.
Whether I succeeded or failed, it’s up to you guys to decide.

Anyway, I worked my ass off to make this. It’s my first album, and I’ve got at least 2 more that I’ll release in the future.

Now who wants a free album?

https://lungsewage.bandcamp.com/album/bathed-in-filth

>Album: Bathed in Filth
>Artist: Lung Sewage
>Experimental/progressive death metal
>Linear song structures, lyrical emphasis on storytelling and internal rhymes, mid-paced tempo
>Influences: Suffocation/Demilich/Infester/Disembowelment

Here's the death/doom/sludge 80bpm cut.
