it is basically a movie, without the visuals
it has little snippets of dialogue and it follows a pretty clear narrative, circulating around various residents in a small fictional town in sweden. with a beginning and an end, the works. not sure if it's worth listening to if you don't understand swedish though :(

Even if you weren't into Portrait in Jazz, I'd still strongly recommend Waltz for Debby. It and another of his, Explorations, are two of my favorite jazz albums. They're a little more brooding, a little more melancholic than Portrait in Jazz.
Also, check out Bobbi Humphrey if you're looking for some good jazz/funk fusion. Shit is very smooth.
