Is this 1981 again? This argument was tired way before you were born kid.
Boring classical tunes
BDSM imagery
Lack of emotional/musical range

Is it wrong though? Stopped doing anything post A Broken Frame, literally kept in the band because the others are too good to kick him out, and made the most talented musician in the band leave.

I can't tell if that's really Dave singing. It doesn't sound like him at all actually.

Alan Wilder leaving the band.

But it's still pretty narrow. You know, it's all dark melancholic classical tunes with synthesizers, with few exceptions (which are ironically some of their best tunes).

they think fletch is the glue that keeps them together

I see what you're talking about. But It's personal taste, I think. I like those two tracks but they're not among my favorites. Out of the non-melancholic, lighter tunes, I really like Everything Counts.

He's a childhood friend of Martin, so I think he is like family to him. That's why he favored Fletch over Alan, I think. Alan was also the only normal guy in the band at hat point. Martin was an alcoholic, Dave was a junkie, Fletch was in depression. He probably had enough and said ''Fuck it''.
