1000 years ago, music was more or less improvised, as the greek musical notation had only begun to see widespread adoption and improvement.
What does /mu/ think will be the next step in musical evolution for the next 1000 years?
recorded music is less than 200 years old. Pop music less than 100. It could outlive all of us by many generations and still be considered a fad by historical standards.
In 3000 there will probably be art based on sound, but if it's called "music," the name will only be an anachronism
