he's looked like this for a long time though.

I'm not trying to diss him, I like him and what he does. there was just a certain strain of like post-Deleuzian theory that was on this cold, nihilistic death trip, and it just seems like the path to eventual suicide from what I've read from it

Balls to the wall fun and nothing else.

I find house nights have too many students here and techno is full of pretentious head nodding (inb4 cluster fuck of pardoners disagreeing)

DnB nights seem to get such good crowds if you avoid the jump-up. Not saying that I don't mind a bit of Hazard thrown into a set, it's just jump-up seems to be predominantly chavs.

it's an internal rhyme scheme. the rhyme comes before the repeated word

hav u ever even been to a night with mcs? crowds love it when each line ends with the same word cos it makes it easy to shout along to
mashed up people in the dance don't care about "lyrics" lol. they just want something that sounds high energy, which internal rhyme schemes do

Jesus Christ that guy looks like a mopey bastard.

It seems Nihilism is going to be a very defining concern among the masses in the near future -- its becoming more and more prevalent in the arts, and even in pop culture. Now that younger generations are beginning to wake up to the fact that religion is a product of the imagination, it seems Nihilism is asserting itself as a new way of gaining control.

I don't mean to derail the thread, so I thought link-related would be fitting...

tbqh fuck that dancing in rows thing that is the norm @ so many nights because of greedy promoters and lack of space (and of course people who can't dance), i like to bounce around whenever i can.

(i'm not at all into dnb though lol)

Do you reckon bleep is one of the oldest generals on /mu/? I always assumed that most of the board was around 16.

This was a bit underwhelming. Not sure how they did the production for the tracks but the ones which sounded like Om Unit was producing them were great, and the Killa P and Fox features were good. There was some absolute shit on there as well though.

Cheers, Ninja. I didn't know there was a forthcoming comp on Exit.

The Limewax LP is the best one I've heard so far, but I'm really hoping for bigger albums in the next months. A lot of disappointments for me this year, including Calibre. Dom better deliver the goods.

Huge 90's acts like The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Underworld and the likes.

Shelflife 4 disappointed me a bit too, it just didnt sound overly Calibre to me and sounded over-produced, if that makes sense? I much prefer how minimal 3 sounds in comparison.

Plus, with the fantastic Strumpet EP last year it let me down a bit
>>
>>64810202
listened to the first 4 tracks
pretty underwhelming - what ones do you like?

his ban from dsf was legendary too
>>
>>64810462
So far the only ones I actually liked were
Bring Dat Back ft. Killa P
Buss It (probably my favourite)
Splatta ft Fox
Voyage

I probably should have expected this since once you start getting into collectives with 4+ producers shit starts to decrease in quality. Might be that I expected too much from it, kind of like when I first heard Edtrafienical.
>>
>>64810449
Personally, I thought it was actually under-produced. It has the Calibre soul but lacks everything else. He's made better drums, better melodies, better basslines before. But maybe it will grow on me.

'Amen Tune' is killer, though.

>>
What's your favorite LIES tune? I'm currently pretty into Terekke's s/t, Balearic Bliss is nxtlvl shit
>>
>>64810202
Nah all tunes are sick, granted there are weaker tunes but thats a given in a full length, can't be absolute bangers whole way through. Production and Mcing is A1 and well exceeded my expectations. Om Unit and Fracture influences are so obvious its sick, I think its on my top bleep albums of 2016 so far.
>>
>>64808459
big release, bangers all round
>>
>>64812561
I think Exit suffer a bit from their own success, they so consistently put out well produced things that just being well produced isn't enough to stand out on the label anymore.

But I don't think I'll like it any more with a relisten and I wonder if it might even be in my top 10 LPs for the year, it's not really my style of D&B/bleeps desu.

modern drum and bass is fucking awful, and honestly the whole richie brains thing has just made me cringe from the start of that vapid campaign to the end

honestly if you like this kind of thing you simply have no taste whatsoever. it's so predictable, underwhelming and cheesy in the worst possible way. anyone i've met who is into dnb has never given a fuck about the wider scope of music and the producers i've met have been total manchildren

the whole thing just needs to die
>>
>>64806733

Lol true words right here family

Just look at ninja - the biggest dnb nerd alive most likely. He literally can't bring himself to a club. Like, how can you call yourself a grown man if you can't pick ur paki bum off the floor and shake ur bum about in the dance hehe
>>

i like turny and proper breakbeat hardcore and dnb before 2001 is passable, but fucking hell liquid and neurofunk just killed the whole thing and its shitty influence is everywhere

especially in everything on exit and newer metalheadz stuff. i hate it all. fuck it

>>64813867
it's LITERALLY autism music. the whole vibe it gives off is chubby people with patchy facial hair who smell like old cheese. "that kid" in the corner of community college who tried to dress road but it just looked like his mum bought random clothes from sports direct.

that and just cod playing pilly willyd teenagers/early 20 somethings, or nice enough people who go to all the uk festivals just for the social aspect but dont really care about the tunes

24, havent been to a club/done hard drugs in almost 2 years though.

and yes, /bleep/ is one of the older generals because it implies you're old enough to actually go to a club. also it's the less american thread, that's why people sound more like real people.

>>
>>64813705
The Richie Brains thing is a case of trying to make a super group just for the sake of it, like Om Unit and Fracture are fine on their own, why bother teaming them up with the others who don't even have similar styles.

Also I thought it was well established that D&B (Jump Up aside) was full autism tier breakbeats, including the producers as well.

i agree drum and bass has no visual asthetic at all.

most of it is just dancefloor crap anyway even stuff exit records puts out would only make sense in a live setting where snapbacks are present, who in there right mind wants to listen to such garbage or be associated with it.

This is what the lo-fi thing has going for it, they will never be on the same level as us unless they quickly change things.

You can easily apply the same thing to people that listen to grime lol that music is just inexcusable crap for degenerate chav's.

It makes gabba look good.
