Not every band has to have an underground kvlt production values to be good, their overall sound and atmosphere is otherworldly and pretty crushing especially on that album in particular, they had to restrain themselves technically to keep their coherence and intent on that album intact, they traded off technical prowess for a reacher sound and atmosphere, that can be a lot more rewarding in my opinion.

Nah, they took what was hinted at on UAFM with (seemingly) simpler yet atmospheric tracks like Natassja, and distilled it to the absolute essence of primitive, minimal black metal. It's their most extreme album, even if not as good as the two preceding imo. Definitely essential and hugely influential on all bm to follow.
Panzerfaust is a few good tracks and some uneven throwbacks that foreshadow their mediocre late 90s output.

Vektor are too good for their own good. Their music is complex, fast, and precise but absolutely soulless. There's none of the intensity or belligerence of thrash and their music lacks the grim and macabre atmosphere of black metal, instead it is just a collection of intricately designed guitar jingles that disappear from memory as soon as the next one appears. The level of skill they possess is truly admirable but it hinders them from creating anything passionate, sloppiness breeds personality and Vektor are robots.
