about halfway through this album. When does it actually get good?
when it ends
>>64678312
lel gud one m8
honestly it sucks.... im hella dissapointed
>>64678325
thanks, I genuinely didnt like it but I suppose I could give it another chance.
>>64678338
I generally like James Blake, but the album seems a bit too long, quite a few tracks sound the same. :/
>>64678334
Agreed, it was a major letdown. A chore to get through desu.
>>64678405
This desu.
I barely made it to the end.
baka senpai.
>>64678303
Best electronic album of 2016
For whatever that means
>>64678442
I quit after track 14.
>>64678555
>electronic album
? it's barely electronic anymore... I enjoyed though what does senpai think?
>>64678555
>unironically saying ''electronic''
>>64678582
>>64678581
I mean the second biggest influence is R&B but this is more electronic than R&B
>>64678581
Seriously though best "electronic" work I've heard all year even in Blakey doesn't qualify for the term anymore
It was good all the way through you fucking mongloid
>>64678602
>>64678615
Do you have a favourite string album of the year?
Track 1
>>64678666
>dem trips
>>64678899
>track 17
ftfy
>>64678666
>>64678899
both of these
if /mu/ can't recognize the greatness of this album that's honestly disgusting
sf I really like Love Me In Whatever Way and My Willing Heart
Radio Silence is great but I feel like I've been listening to it too much (since he first performed it)
>>64678932
fine I'll try it again jeez
>>64678954
Love Me in Whatever Way truly touches my soul
>>64678932
>>64678666
you mad senpai?
>>64678974
souls don't actually exist
>>64678969
i think a real big hurdle you have to get past when first listening is really distinguishing between the tracks
At first they sound really similar
But it gets better
>>64678969
please do It's legitimately the best thing he's released
And this is coming from someone who thought s/t and Overgrown were mediocre
>>64678993
fine it touches my emotions you fucking autist
fuck off
>>64678932
what is actually good about it? It seems so contrived and tries so hard to be "soulful" and "artsy" but it just feels so empty emotionally to me.
>>64678303
You HAVE to listen to this album all the way through on one listen or it won't click
>>64678666
>>64678999
aoty confirmed
p4k when
>>64678303
maybe not AOTY
but whatever is released between now and December its still in my top 3 and I don't see that changing
>>64679046
fuck them they'll give it a high score because of the interview soley
>>64679062
Not true, they panned M83 recently. However I don't see this one getting below an 8.5
NOT NOW NOT THEN
This album is too long and doesn't have any direction. Absolute garbage for plebs to eat for the month.
>he's already heard Timeless
>hasn't orgasmed into bliss
There is legitimately something wrong with your ears anon
music cant be everything
>>64679130
Greatest closer to an album I've heard since who knows when
>>64679127
if this is really all it takes for you then I feel sorry for you.
>>64679169
no I feel sorry for you m8
Points, Put That Away, Forest Fire, Always, Meet You in the Maze a best.
>>64679208
cool
>>64679228
Put That Away? Really? that god awful vocal sample. Literally could not stop laughing when I heard that.
The lanky, gray version of channel orange
>>64679228
>Put That Away,
Is this song about phones?
>>64679255
its about weed dude
>>64679255
it has to be
when you learn to hear good music
>>64679265
>>64679255
>I'm in a waiting after every inhalation
>They're keeping me full today
>Where is my beautiful life?
>I'm not livin' here, I'm not livin' here anymore
>I won't know pain anymore
>I won't know haze anymore
weed
>>64679130
When he says this is he making a statement or is he questioning something
>>64680226
definitely a statement or else it wouldn't be the last line on the album
>>64680241
I dunno he could be question his preconceived notions. Like "there must be more to life"
>>64680226
According to that Pitchfork interview, Blake has been kind of caught up in music in such a way that couldn't catch up to the rest of the world. He has also used music to vocalize his depression, and he just doesn't want to do that anymore. That's what I got from that line.
>>64680268
It could be but it just feels too definitive
plus this has been his most lively work yet so it could have even more merit
