Does anyone else unironically like Enya's music?
Her production is interesting and masterful, and her tunes are a nostalgia trip for me cause my somewhat new-age mother used to play them to me when i was young.

I have literally the exact same opinion for the exact same reason
>>
Orinoco Flow is great. Haven't found much reason to listen to her music besides that.
>>
It's cheesy but lame and eerily soothing at the same time
>>
>>64677848
top kek pretty awesome
>>64677868
Orinocco Flow is catchy as fuck, Carribean Blue dank too, dem juicy synth patches at the start mmm
Some of her stuff can get too ambient and esoteric for me but damn she can make some catchy, good sounding trax
>>
>>64677894
I agree, it's a shame i can't really listen to her with irl friends though, they just think i'm bullshitting them or that i'm being ironic

got a favorite album/song by her?
I haven't listened to her nearly enough to form an articulate opinion on her work.
>>
>>64677939
tbch i was quoting extremely old south park
my parents played enya to my brother when he had trouble sleeping because of ADD

>>64678051
stahp enyas a totally different dream scope
>>
>>64678102

I always drift away in the most comfy way when i fall asleep to Enya

>>64678244
i may of may not have hated having to hear this all of time
>>
>>64678321
wow i can't into typing
>>
>>64678321
Orinocco Flow is probably her most popular song, it did get overplayed ngl
I noticed "Only Time" getting used in some memes recently.
I suppose most millenials have some nostalgic connection to Enya in a good or bad way
>>
>>64678389
enya definitely holds some dumb "ironic" value to the millennial types, even if they don't realise they might genuinely enjoy her
nobody actually chooses enya on their own, she's pretty much the stockholm syndrome of music
>>
kek apparently scaruffi really likes the enya
id be a loser if i didnt get on that
>>
Mom-core as fuck, still catchy as hell and relaxing to listen too.
My mother had a huge stack of CDs from enya, shania twain and various collections from mcmusic hits and hits 4 kids.
>>
>>64678687
Mine had a mixtape with enya, some ambient stuff and the x-files theme that i listened to all the time
was spoopy af and i got nightmares from it
>>
>>64678687
you know what else is mom-core?
fucking Dido

ps: is there a mom-core chart in existance?
>>
How do you feel about Loreena Mckinnitt OP?

>>
>>64678841

I like it senpai
>>
>>64678752
Dido too! How could I forget? I'm pretty sure every woman in my family knows Life For Rent and White Flag by heart.
>>
>>64678863
oh of course, is that the one with the ABBA covers?
that's the only erasure cd i remember my mom having
>>64678872
>tfw i almost know those songs by heart
>>
>>64678752
If you're really doing this then fucking 10,000 Maniacs or Natalie Merchant needs to be on it somewhere

You'll like her albums then. Nice Celtic music. Her song Mystics Dream was used as the main hook music for the movie "Jade"

>>
>>64677840
I'm a sucker for cheesy new age and celtic music so Enya's like the uncanny sweet spot for me
I didn't know there was an established revulsion for her music though, most people I know are pretty neutral towards it

>>64678085
Watermark (1989) is her best work.

>ps: is there a mom-core chart in existance?
Someone listed a very complete list of Australian mum rock.
>>
>>64678752
It'd have to encompass a bunch of different genres
>Mom rock
>Mom Top 40s
>Mom pop
>Mom singer/songwriter
>"When I was in high school"
>Car CD-core
>>
>>64679804
>Car CD-core
this is generally the feel i get from vaporwave.

>be a kid
>long car trip at night
>drifting into half sleep in the backseat of the car
>dumb pop singles playing through shitty car speakers
eccojams replicated this top comfy feel almost perfectly for me
>>
>>64679854
For me it was always more of
>be a kid on way to school
>"mom can I put on the radio you always play this cd"
>"no it's my car I'm going to listen to what I want"
>listen to same cd
>repeat ad infinitum
>>
My mom would always play the White Stripes.
